I read it wrong sorry : D no harm done

ya i didnt mean to rush you either man

how progress? and when this is done can i expect this to be merged into the enclave or tesla armor repair list?
in general i would like to see this armor become something modded into the list of npc's instead of another armor in the clubhouse
id be happy to help with that if you want (to take that direction) since im not good at modeling but im really familair with the geck and have released a mods dealing with factions and whatnot and would love to help out

anyway keep up the good work

We'll see it done yet, he just released the DE Armor, I can't wait to see what he does with the Lancer Armor with what he learned making Deep Eyes.

Having played FO1/2, I can quite easily say that you're wrong. Puny earthling government who aren't powerful even by today's standards, or inter-universal conquerors with vast armies of god only knows what at their command. Only reason they're even remotely beatable on Earth is that the Xen Borderworld is their main access to our universe, and Humanity has enough knowledge of that little universe to use it to disrupt their travel. (Play Half Life 1, Opposing Force and Blueshift, then play HL2EP2, the super portal is deactivated by the same principle as the rocket in HL1, and the xen anchor beacon in Blueshift)

The Universal Union are several hundred steps above the Enclave in everyway possible.

Um, not powerful at all?

Do you know what power armor is? No, not the way it is represented ingame (just so you can kill it), the way it really is?

It was designed to stop tanks. Tanks. That means a single power armored soldier can take down a tank with no problems. Not to mention the fact that the Enclave came up with better power armor in the period since the war (which is canon). So, if Combine regulars (just average soldiers, like Enclave average soldiers) can take down a tank, I'd consider that notion.

And since we're not fighting in their universe, it doesn't matter how godly they are over there. We're here. Our rules. Earth rules, not Combine rules. I doubt they'd survive their government being shot to hell and nothingness and come back the strongest force on the planet.....If you stripped them of all they are, and set a few survivors on an oil rig, I doubt they'd come back. I'll give you something, though-if the Enclave were to go to their universe, they'd lose. Wouldn't stand a chance. Combine would own over there, but not over here.

Sorry I hijacked this thread! I apologize; no more arguement.

Do you have any screenshots of the latest work?

I think the Deep Eyes armor has made me much more 3d savvy now, and I have a few fresh Ideas to make this model come to life.

I want to make High poly normal transfers for each piece of the armor.
I will take advantage of the UV mapping technique I used in the previous mod.
I will make seperate Textures for the arms and the body to give the UV map extra space to increase detail.

Main things I learnt from the deep eyes mod involve the UV mapping stage really, I managed to get a pretty decent quality from a 1024x1024 texture which I should be aiming for. It enables the mod to load a lot faster when equiped then a 2048x2048 one would.

right lets get on with it then : D

Okay...stopping a tank in what manner?

I'm still pretty darn sure that if the Tank managed to run over a power-armored Soldier he'd still be flattened.

What happens is that the Soldier is much faster, and capable of withstanding small-arms fire long enough to take down a tank with his/her arsenal of weapons.

There's a big difference between stopping a tank and being stronger than it.

I could use a RPG to stop a tank, but i couldn't use the RPG to beat it into small little pieces.

What you need to consider is that Tanks are sluggish and rigid, and a power-armored Soldier is not, the latter is capable of withstanding fire, as well as dishing out damage in a flexible manner. So yes a power armored soldier can take down a tank no problems, why? Because the tank's high caliber weaponry would have little to no chance of hitting the soldier.

And why can't combine soldiers take down a tank? Well there's nothing to suggest that given the right weaponry that they can't. If i send a T-51b Marine armed with only 3 grenades, an assault rifle and a pistol i'm pretty darn sure he/she will NOT take down said tank.

So no i don't see why the Combine would be ineffective against power armor, when they have weapons that are by far more advanced than the Enclave.

Guy above me tells the truth - One combine ball weapon or Strider singularity cannon, and that PA'd soldier is still vapourised. It may be Earth and Our rules, but they know how to play those rules far above what we're capable of.

take as much time as you need on this man, i want this to be the big one. i might suggest giving it a real vault-boy styled icon and stats similar to tesla armor but maybe lus on the DR and minus the Energy weps..

and please dont put it somewhere on the ground i beg of you, just integrate it into the npc inventory, wait have i already said all this? sorry if i have

keep it up

A single power armored troop is capable of taking down a whole city with no problems, it's what they were desingned to do for futher prof http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/T-51b_Power_Armor 2067: The first suit of T-45d Power Armor is deployed in Alaska. While lacking the full mobility of future versions, this Power Armor is incredibly effective against Chinese tanks and infantry. Its ability to carry heavy ordinance becomes key in various localized conflicts, and it has the power to destroy entire towns without endangering the wearer. China rushes to create its own versions, but they are many years behind the United States

P.S. sorry for futhering the arugument just needed to make a point
