favourite type of weapon? : Fallout: New Vegas

I fond of shotguns but lately Ive been enjoying explosives after the patch never gets old firing a grenade and watching the enemies go flying

So hard to choose between hologram and tesla, Although hologram look much more high-tech, but I think I will go for tesla because I prefer long beam.

Nothing like the awsome effects of a Gauss rifle, it just looks so awsome! I love energy wepons but they svck compared too guns :sadvaultboy:

Conventional weapons. Me like shooting bullets and watching body parts fly. Ash & goo piles aren't the same.

Sadly I have to agree with this, if only the visual effects for energy weapons would be more fleshed out and organic..

but seriously, mine has to be everything in the 'Guns' catagory. Hunting Rifle would probably be my most used weopon, with .308 rifle rounds being my most used ammo type.

Lasers + Laser Commander + Meltdown = Happiness

Though I'm quite partial to melee weapons, too. Nothing is more amusing than homerun batting a deathclaw with the Super Slam perk.

While I can't pick one from the list, I've always been partial to rifle grip, long range weapons. Preferably silenced and scoped, but not required.

Ratslayer is my single favorite weapon, natch. But hunting rifles, AER14, holo, AMR, etc all fit the bill.

Yup, RCW+ and AER14 are damn fine laser weapons but the rest are :yucky: .

Yeah, how are laser beams and plasma bolts weaker than ordinary bullets? Makes no sense if you ask me.

In F:NV I'm a Guns fanatic gotta love the Avenger Minigun Though in F3 I really loved walking through the wastes in my Winterized T-51b with a Plasma Rifle. Man I loved the Energy Weapon/Power Armor combo.

i prefer weapons that actually exist, so thats guns, explosives, melee and unarmed. melee and hand to hand combat is lame, and i like accuracy and precision, not huge explosions that destroy a bunch of stuff that you didnt need to and leave a big mess. so guns, but no smg's.

the avenger is a pretty sick weapon it spins up so much faster than the standard and is slightly more accurate the only thing is its clip size is only 120/125 rounds which kinda svcks :/ but owell just dont miss the target i suposse

The Laser Rifle with all three attachments and max-charge ammo. From far enough away, you can sneak kill a Death Claw in one shot.

The Sniper Rifle with silencer is pretty useful too for those pesky humans. Widening the spread on the Bush Gun was a pretty doofy idea.

Something about the genericness (yes its a word) is a turn on.

i totally agree with that and the sound aswell is ace especially with stuff like magnums.love this machine like when it reloads.but last few days been using guasse rifle and im hooked.if it hits you your going down,all there is to it.i think when you pull a gun on some people they should stick there hands up in fear and maybe you could mug them even take the shirt off there back.then let them spread the word theres a bad mofo in town.i used to be such a nice guy before fallout came along.cheers bethesda.

so ive been wondering people whats your favourite type of weapon?

My preference is standard/conventional firearms. I usually roll with a completely modded sniper rifle with JSP Hand Load ammo and the All American as a back up.

If the critical hit deaths in F3/NV for energy weapons were as epic and gruesome as they were for Fallout 1 & 2, then I'd be more inclined to use them. But alas, the ash and goo effect aren't as fun as they should be.
