Companion will not follow

Post » Sat Apr 02, 2011 4:54 am

I am unable to get Star Paladin Cross to follow me anymore. I have the GOTY edition and Windows 7. I am using no mods.

She followed me to my Megaton house (furnished Pre-War style). Since companions have knocked stuff around following me around the house in the past, I told her to wait by the door. I sorted my inventory into containers, took her inventory and sorted it into containers, crafted some things at the workbench, went out to Craterside Supply and sold a few things, and then re-equipped both myself and Cross. When I said, "Let's go," she agreed, but continued to stand behind the coat rack.

I tried using the console to more her out, thinking she might be stuck, but she still didn't follow either when I tried it inside or when I moved her outside. I also tried using the console commands " evp " and then " setrestrained 0 " to no avail both by itself or after moving her first.

Try the advice offered here to resolve the issue:

Spoiler
Sometimes, if you tell Cross to wait, then reopen dialogue with her later, she will act as if you hadn't told her to wait and have normal dialogue, but she will still remain in that spot indefinetly. Firing her then rehiring her can fix this.(Remember you must have good Karma to rehire her).
