DLC Troubles

Post » Fri Apr 01, 2011 3:27 pm

Today, I bought 45 dollars worth of DLC for Fallout from PSN - The Pitt, Broken Steel, Mothership Zeta and Operation: Anchorage. I successfully paid for, downloaded and installed them, but nothing is showing up ingame - on the menu section that says 'Downloads' or in the game itself. I have tried waiting for over twenty minutes to no avail, and when I called PSN support and gave them the serial of my PS3 and FO3 disc, they said region shouldn't be the problem. I was told to try deleting my game data utility and reinstall it before reinstalling the DLC, but that didn't work, either. I was also told that I might need to reach a certain level to activate the DLC, but that doesn't sound familiar.

I've spent forty bucks, and I'm really disappointed that what I bought isn't working. Fallout is otherwise such a great game. One way or another, I don't want to be ripped off - either I want to figure out how to run the DLC, or I want my money back. Can anyone help or does anyone have suggestions?

More information:

In Game Data Utility, two saves exist for Fallout after I reinstalled it and the DLC - Fallout, and Fallout: DLC.
The purchases are listed in my transactions history.
The DLC I purchased in listed in my previous downloads. (This is where I reinstalled it from, as on PSN itself there wasn't the typical sign showing it had already been bought. You know the little shopping bag in the corner?)

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks very much.

WHAT; YOU DIDN'T BUY POINT LOOKOUT?
Are you nutz & you bought MotherShipZeta instead?

Anyway you have to load a save file and wait around 10 minutes (while actually playing). Then you will get a message poping that the dlcs have been installed.

The only add-on you need to reach a certain level is Broken Steel. It changes the ending and other stuff but I won't go into that because its spoilers.

I didn't really think that through, getting Zeta instead of Point Lookout. XD Ah, well. If these problems keep up, I won't be able to use any of them!

Unfortunately, that didn't work. I left the game running and let my character sit in a safe spot for twenty minutes, and nothing happened. I didn't pause the game or take it to the pip-boy menu - just let it wait ingame. Still, nothing.

Check your radio in the pip-boy. It leaves a message if the dlcs are installed. Again wait about 10 minutes.

Still no good - nothing is happening. Rgh. What are the chances I could get a refund, considering this bull?

This has to be region related then. No other reason why it would not work, I know Canada still have issues with the region if that is where you live.

Yes, that is where I live. When I told the person at support the serial code on my PS3 and on my disc he said there shouldn't be a problem, but I'm not so sure he knew what he was talking about, to be quite frank. Is there any way I can fix this, or at least get my money back? I feel pretty ripped off, because I already paid for the DLC.

How would I do that? And thanks for the help so far, both of you - I'm really not expecting anything to work, but I'll try whatever is recommended.

I can't find it. Hm. I have the 'Greatest Hits' edition of Fallout, if that makes any difference.

The reason Canada has region issues is because Bethesda sent the US region Fallout 3s to Canada. Then sent Canadian region Fallout 3 GOTYs to Canada. Confusing everyone.

Maybe, I had games such as San Andreas with copy's of both the Greatest hit and the original & the save files are not compatible. Maybe this if your problem.

So in that case, my best bet would be to try and get a refund, return the original game and get the GOTY version?
