Fix Fallout 3 Bethesda

Post » Fri Apr 01, 2011 6:26 pm

So I recently had a message locked due to a forum rule violation. I was then directed to another forum dealing with hardware complaints to find a solution to my freezing issues with Fallout 3. The game is broken Bethesda. How long can you actually ignore this issue? You are the only ones that can right the problem. I can't magically make a broken piece of software begin to work. This is a WIDESPREAD ISSUE that your company doesn't seem to want to address. Just look at your forums for 15 minutes. Your fixes and suggestions do nothing to solve the issues for any of us. There are thousands of people with Fallout 3 discs that would work better as a drink coaster than a working piece of software. I have spent roughly $120 on Fallout 3 & The Game Of The Year Edition. So I basically blew $120 on a broken piece of merchandise produced by your company. I also have purchased Elder Scrolls: Oblivion & The Shivering Isles expansion. So I am actually someone that enjoys your games. Fallout 3 and Oblivion are two of the best games I have played. It just baffles me how you can sit there and do absolutely NOTHING. My game freezes over and over and over. I tried to play it today, 3 freezes immediately after my game loaded and I was done. Your little trouble shooting tips you emailed are a joke, the way you are dealing with this issue is a joke, the way you treat your customers and members of these forums is a joke. Why supply forums and a community for your games if you do nothing with the feedback you receive? Perhaps these forums are just to gauge how many svckers you have at your disposal to buy your products. The real crime here is that Fallout 3 is a top tier game. You'd expect a top tier game to be treated as such, and not discarded like a piece of trash, especially by those who worked to make it so successful. You are not only slapping all of us in the face, you might as well be slapping yourself in the face too. I'm sure you will sell a zillion copies of New Vegas and rake in more money, even from some of the people you have neglected in these forums, but I most definitely will not be one of them. For me the issue here is your loyalty to me. Why should I be loyal to you, if your history shows zero intent to be loyal to me? It's just bad business, and it's a shame to see the same sloppy and irresponsible standards and corporate nonsense have leaked into a medium that was meant to be an escape from things of that nature. The way you are dealing with this is an embarrassment to your company and and most definitely a dent in your companies reputation.

How long can you actually ignore this issue?

Forever, because they have been 100% done with Fallout 3 for a while.

There are thousands of people with Fallout 3 discs that would work better as a drink coaster than a working piece of software.

The millions of people who the game works for says otherwise.

Why supply forums and a community for your games if you do nothing with the feedback you receive?

So that their next game can address these issues and they don't have to spend all their time and money on a game that works fine for the mass majority of people.

Why should I be loyal to you, if your history shows zero intent to be loyal to me?

Well, lets see... They gave us the ability to mod their games for one. That right there is a great boon for us. It shows they trust us enough to allow us access to their assets and make what we want for the game, where as most other developers would just say, "No, what you see is what you get."

Also, expect a lock as rants are also against forum rules.

All good and well but those millions of people enjoying this magnificent modifiable game are probably pc users. And according to the commercial code of conduct I can be held responsible for selling faulty products. It's like when I'm a grocer and 75% of my costumers are happy about my bananas, however I manage to sell 25% rotten ones purely for profit and to top it all off: I keep on selling 'm fully knowing they are crap making people sick. I can... I mean I WILL be held responsible for the 25%, it's as simple as that! This is not an issue of democracy or the majority counts, faulty merchandise normally gets replaced, refunded or fixed otherwise it becomes a fraudulent matter especially if the company keeps pushing those goods. Lets say there are a thousand unhappy ps3 costumers that's still a ... load of money and disillusioned people. What about people like me? Who bought this game triple whise: once ps3 vanilla then ps3 GoTY and then the pc version cos my ps3 edition aint working too well. Oh hell, I dont care about the money and I dont know whether I should turn to Sony or Bethesda. However I'll be more careful what I buy in the future! If it doesn't kill me, I can learn from it and that I did.

corporate nonsense have leaked into a medium that was meant to be an escape from things of that nature.

Right on! There was a time that it wasn't all about graphix and capitalism, it was about experimenting, fun and learning... ;)

Our rules ask that you do not make threads about a closed topic. In addition, this is basically a rant thread, you are not asking for specific help, just venting your personal frustration. I'm sorry you have had such a difficult time with the game working, hopefully some of the excellent people here can help out if you provide details, etc. But I do not see this thread going anywhere constructive or useful.
