Yeah. As said by the gatekeeper: "The credit check must be submitted to prevent 'undesirables' from entering into The Strip." Or something like that. Besides, getting the 2000 caps isn't as hard as you think.

you don't lose money by doing the credit check ( http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Passport):

"However, the player can still get into the Strip as long as he or she can pass the credit check of 2000 caps (Note that this does not mean that you lose your caps, you just need to be carrying 2000 caps)."

they just don't want poor people(=people who can't spend any money) to enter the strip ^^

NCR scrubs? Pshhh dont even get me started. Plus you might want to get that check out, I was out on patrol with a guy that had that problem one time, long story short we were sneaking around in a building with legionaries in it and he farted, and the caps hitting the ground tipped them off we were there. He didnt make it out :sadvaultboy: I MISS YOU JOHNNY!

Nah, I use the Legion Denarius, it's made of Gold. So at least the waiter can make a ring out of it if they smelt it. I'd not dream of using NCR money, that's just insulting.

@Apex- It might be because I ate that bottlecap filled lunchbox once. IN MY DEFENSE.....I thought they were gummy caps, tommorow I should be all better though. :cryvaultboy:

There isn't a 'entry fee' to enter the strip. So no matter how you get in it's free.

Even if you rush to Vegas carrying only the items you got from Doc Mitchell, getting onto the strip is a simple matter of running a few errands for "The King". If you take the more fun road of chasing Benny all over the Mojave, and doing odd-jobs along the way, having 2,000 caps in your pocket shouldn't be a problem.

You can get in via:

Monorail
Passport
[Science 80] check
Possession of at least 2000 caps
Blasting the Securitrons

If you take that last route the rest of them won't care, the ones on the outside of the Vegas gate appear to be a separate faction from the rest. I was concerned this would be the case myself when I decided to try that method, but it turned out not to matter. I would still advise saving first, just in case. They'll eventually respawn, and won't know you shot them so will be friendly.
