What do you roleplay as

Post » Sat Sep 18, 2010 1:38 pm

I RP as a demi-god with an overpowered arsenal, and break the economy by exploiting tears in the fabric of the universe. Killing things that would ordinarily kill a normal man.

A highly intelligent courier at the start, wanting answers, then, after meeting Mr. House, he pledges to fulfill Mr. House's plan.

A NCR ranger who stepped down after the first battle of Hoover Dam because he thought the NCR had the dam well in hand, however after getting ambushed in his sleep by Benny and surviving being shot in the head, and tracking him all the way to the strip and getting his revenge, he was approached by Crocker (who he hated btw) and asked him to do some work on the side for the NCR. After doing several missions for them he was asked by Chief Hanlon at Camp Golf to study under him to take over the rangers after his inevidable retirement after the war with the Legion, a job which he gladly accepted due to his respect for Hanlon and his loyalty to the republic.

Leafstalker: A man just trying to do the right thing. Joined up with the NCR was recognized for his sharp aim and stealthy moves. Along with Boone he decided to help pick up the slack, and cleaned up the Mojave.

Ten Card Sally: Smart, and... energetic she lives her life collecting old world items, and quickly fell into the good graces of the BoS. Along with Veronica she swears to one day rule New Vegas with the help of the Followers of the Apocalypse.

Lucius Vorenus: Born Max Kinkade, Lucius changed his name after a fateful meeting with Vulpes Inculta. After being disillusioned with the NCR's lack of support for well... anything Lucius found the reasoning behind the Legions actions were not only justified, they where the only way to unify the nation. At a young age Max had the luck of owning a pre-war book that explained that once a single nation ruled from ocean to ocean, and he has dreamed of this ever since. Max had hoped the NCR would be his answer, but quickly learned that its not honor that keeps the piece, but fear, fear and blood.

Alex Mahone: A man who planed on owning New Vegas for himself, and steal everything he could get his hands on soon learned of a higher calling when he finally met Mr. House. While he and his partner in crime Cass use to steal just to get ahead, now he has a new mission. Kill Benny, and replace him as Mr. Houses right hand.

but to get any of the good gear from gommorah, you have to kill a prosttute...that's not very submissive. I don't know, it takes a different character to play a sub in this kind of video game, you have too many choices to make! Do you usually side with Caesar? :hubbahubba:

No, I usually dont side with Caeser. LMAO

Alan James Sutler: And then began the horror, Sutler fired indiscriminately, without mercy or even aim; he kept the pistol close to his hip and rotated slowly around the room, firing a round in every direction. The round hit there target essentially instantly, each pull of the trigger instantly resulted in five squechly explosions of gore from peasants abdomens and blood-curdling screams of pain. Sutler stopped firing after a few seconds when Granite and Autumn moved in, the risk of friendly fire was too great; Sutler ceased the indiscriminate killing and drew his ripper, immediately seizing a peasant, whom had been cowering behind his chair in the corner, and plunging it like a dagger into the women’s throat before dropping her back to the floor to bleed out.

Well, you could be right, I'll grant you. But what I'm basing my assumptions on (both our positions are merely that, assumptions), is this (from fallout wiki):

"Not much is known about the Courier's background, apart from they have some sort of a relationship with Ulysses, the previous Courier Six. For reasons unknown, Ulysses pulled out of the delivery job when he learned that the Courier's name was next on the list, seemingly convinced that the job would kill the Courier - and he was almost right."

I interpret that part about our Courier to mean they were 'next on the company's list of available couriers for a job'. Which to me infers a regular company employee (for an unknown period of time, long or short), waiting for the next available courier job. Of course it may have been their very first job after signing up, but he/she would have had to sign up and become an employee of the company in order to be on their available couriers list. So, I can realistically infer (in my opinion anyway) that the courier was an official company employee, although we aren't told how long they had been with the company prior to the start of NV. But it wasn't like they just hooked up with some random stranger on a street corner in California and said "Sure, I'll take a package to Vegas for ya for XXX caps."

So, I have some basis in the story background to realistically believe that the courier may very well have been employed with that company for more than just the one (almost fatal) job.

It could have easily been the first time the Courier's name was coming up on the list. He could have just recently signed onto the roster. After all, if orders are slow, the more experienced couriers are going to be cross if the new guy gets one of the few available jobs instead of them. There's nothing concrete that says the Courier has made deliveries before. The only thing that's certain is that he/she first got the Platinum Chip somewhere in NCR territory.

I have this theory it's the moustache, I think Marty is a Desmond fanatic as well to back this wild speculation up.
If the next FO is 70's based california Marty is going to pass out in extacy in my very made up and jokey opinion.

Oh look here's my next RP, Dorothy with Toto Rex, Strawman Raul and a kickass assault carabine.

Whoah, I never thought about how similar Desmond and Mr. House look. Desmond is practically a ghoulified version of Mr. House's image. :D

Wasn't going to try and roleplay anything for this playthrough (as i was recording it for a playthrough, on youtube) but for some reason, this game just went off to a sour start, Ringo died during the defense of Goodsprings and Deputy Beagle became intimately aquainted with a stick of dynamite.

It was odd though since i called my character: Harry Mason (Silent Hill protagonist) and everything just seems to be abit off about this playthrough. But it makes for great Youtube material! So i am looking forward to more unlucky adventures with Harry, and no he isn't looking for his daughter Cheryl.

I think alot of it is the philisophic context he represents. I honestly agreed 100% with his main questline and his ideals. Plus, he has that certian charismatic tone that you just get hypnotized by.

@Madoc- Don't be jealous baby, that moustache is pure six, ya dig?

1). He was a former n'er do well from New Reno. He did what he could to survive. Pickpocketing. Catburglary. Scamming. Raqueteering for the families. Even murder. He's...not proud of his life back then. Having long sought to change his direction, he eventually left and wandered up and down the wastes and NCR, trying to find some more "honest" work. Sometimes as a scav, sometimes as a caravan guard, sometimes as just an ordinary merc. Once resorted to cannibalism after having killed some gangers out in the middle of nowhere after he had gone several days without food. Eventually, joined up as a Courier with the Mojave Express. After getting shot in the head, he pursued his would-be killer to get revenge. Worked with House, not necessarily because he agrees with the man, but because, hey, he pays well (and ultimately seemed to be the lesser of four evils). Ultimately, he left a den sin fully at the mercy of rich and powerful lords, and ended up in a den of sin as the right hand of an even more rich and powerful lord. Funny how things work out...

2). She had a former tribal for a mother, and a former engineer for a father. Hence, she's grown up with a paradoxical dual interest in tribal culture and robotics. Sadly, the small town in Utah didn't provide much in the way of either. She departed from the nest by joining the Mojave Express, hoping it would be a means of seeing the world, seeing more tribes and robots, and learning more about outdoors survival and science. Getting shot in the head was a wake-up call that there was more to watch out for in the world, but she wasn't about ready to go home a penniless (capless?) failure (possibly with angry mercenaries possibly on her tail). Her fate has yet to come...

The closest I've come to really RP-ing a character so far is The Scoundrel. He's not strong, he's not tough, he's not honest and he's not even especially bright. But he's a decent shot with a pistol, can crack any safe, and can talk the clothes off a nun. He also steals everything he can (literally, he is basically a kleptomaniac) and gambles away most of his take. For his backstory I don't have much, except he is a wee bit pretentious and is looking to climb the social ladder. Think of the movie Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. To keep his karma neutral or better he does good deeds. This offsets the karma penalty for stealing and helps him "get in good" with the various factions. Needless to say this guy likes being in Vegas as opposed to the outback, and sticks to roads when travelling.

Not from what I've heard-- but I can't judge too much since I've not read it. Still, I will admit to being an Anne Rice fan (read most of them)-- and of course, the original and best Vampire stories of all: Dracula and Carmilla :D

I RP as a young man with many scars and a haunted mind who wont hesitate to kill. But he has a soft side he sometimes shows. His loves to use guns and beat people down, and rarely uses energy weapons.

Lyra Dawson was an NCR soldier that fought in the war with the Brotherhood of steel and traded blows with the Khans before leaving the service to raise a family, but keeping her officers beret as a momento. Sadly, this new life ends in sorrow as her husband is killed fighting raiders along the Mojave trade routes mere days before complications cause her daughter to be stillborn and destroys her ability to safely bear any more children. After recovery, she gathers up the tatters of her life and works as a caravan guard plying the routes to the Mojave until she falls in with the Mojave Express. She works several jobs as a Courier and is slowly rebuilding a life for herself when she takes a fateful job carrying a platinum poker chip.

Awakening in Goodsprings, Lyra sets the Beret back atop her graying head, goes on to prove that the skills she learned in the Army have by no means atrophied over the years, and that Caesars Legion has zero chance taking her down with the Brotherhood, the wastelands and the Mojave combined haven't had enough to make her stay down. Getting her Army commission reactivated at Camp Golf, she again takes up the mantle of NCR Ranger, goes on to kill Caesar before he can open his pretentious mouth, leads her nation to victory and personally plants the banner of the two headed bear atop Lanius' cooling carcass.

Her mercy to the Brotherhood despite her past with them and openness with the Kings garners two potent allies to the NCR, and Lyra brings peace and stability to the Mojave. She forgave Benny, no body bag, no foul, but ended up having to kill the idiot anyway.

Tired of war and death, and wanting a quiet, peaceful place to spend her twilight years, the old soldier takes up the heartfelt offer of newfound friends and travels to Zion, where she happily never again takes up arms in anger, and dies peacefully in the wind and rain, but not before attending the naming ceremony of Waking Cloud's youngest child.

I've been doing faction archetypes
I've made a Follower of the Apocalypse who ends up joining Caesars Legion
A Khan who takes over Vegas
A cannibal who just likes to kill people, save House
One of Caesars Frumentarii
Some NCR guy (First Playthrough)
