Yeah and i say this with a passion. If people wernt pouring all there cash into one franchise(COD) then perhaps there would be more decent online games. I hate COD multiplayer. Its **** plain and simple full of 12 year olds that think no scoping makes then a god (yet all your doing is centering the screen on an enemy and pulling the trigger...not hard). Im sticking with this game because for all its flaws i have the patience to wait for as many patches as it takes to make this game what it should be. Soldier boys go play CoD....that whole franchise is for noobs just to set the record straight. And if i get one more boosting request your names will be up on this site

Without starting a flame war.. COD gets it right best part of the time.. even if the "sticky" auto aim is a little too sticky.

I'm like yourself though..I'm waiting patiently for a update to fix problems .. sooner rather than later because as it stands there isn't a great deal to play online at the moment and Crysis 2 has much more potential but needs some of the more serious flaws fixed for it to get there as IMO it isn't quite there yet.

Also +1 for the no scoping line ..haha

There is a reason the CoD franchise is so popular dude. It does the job better than all the copycats, and yes, Crysis 2 is a CoD copycat.

Just because it copys certain features does not mean that its core gameplay is copied.

Agreed. You might as well say that every FPS is copying Doom or Wolfenstein 3D for that matter....

+1 CoD isn't the best at what it does, it's simply the most successful at getting players. I can't count the number of games that were better than CoD (across all genres) that are dead today because no one played them (gaming is usually a group activity; if your whole "group" plays CoD, good luck trying to get them all to buy any other game, they won't because it only takes one broken cog to ruin the machine).

Guys, seriously. Cry2 multiplayer is like, scifi CoD. It has the leveling system, the perks, leveling up your perks, the killstreak rewards, the death streak rewards, the custom classes, the gun attachments and ****. The only difference between Cry2 and CoD is 2 suit functions, and the fact that Cry2 uses made up future guns.

Oh, and I'm not saying CoD is the best mp FPS, that goes to the battlefield series. I'm just saying in the setup they've designed, they do it better than the imitators.

Or is everyone calling it a cod clone because its the only game that has dominated thier lives? okay so crysis 1 might not have had perks...at some point other company's would have done this anyway its not like its a mastermind idea. Im not really bothered about other games now...Timesplitters 4 may be coming and your all going to get seriously munched :)

You pretty much answered your own question right there. The Nanosuit makes the game play entirely different than CoD. You need to manage your energy efficiently in order to do well in this game.

CoD, or more specifically, Infinity Ward, may have basically invented the perpetual leveling system in shooters, but it works and it keeps people playing. I see no reason to not use it until something better comes along. If you can think of something better, by all means, suggest it.

Quote from one of the Crysis 2 developers (he was asked to list the positive points of Crysis 2, this was one of them):

'yes it’s CoD-like, “and what?”, that is what I want to say to people who complain ;) . Personally I really have fun with my friends in this CoD-like multiplayer (but really improved thanks to the nanosuit).'

full interview here: http://www.fpstime.com/2011/04/crysis-2-%E2%80%93-what-an-ex-developer-of-the-game-thinks-about-it-exclusive-interview/

Personally I think it's a mix of COD and Halo... leaning more towards Halo (seeing as the Crysis 2 suit/weapon combo pretty much has all the Reach Armour Abilities in one.. amongst other similarities).

If this is a copy of CoD then I expect to be able to be able to Air Stomp someone if I go and play my friend's copy. I thought so.

I think you'll find, when people say 'copy' they don't mean a literal carbon copy. That would be breach of copyright. I infer 'copy' in this case to mean 'heavily influenced'... often 'heavily influenced to the detriment of quality'.

Hopefully that's of use and you can avoid coming out with similar pointless comments in the future :)

Crysis actually copies, Battlefield -Hit markers feel similar as does the shooting- COD - kill streaks- Halo- Futuristic albeit this is debatable-
MIRRORS EDGE- sliding and ledge grabbing is unique.

Gotta say that after finishing a few Classic Mode matches - C2 standard mode is not COD. Classic mode is COD. It's unique and although it has issues - I find it more entertaining than WAW, MW2, BO, Homefront, BFBC2, or HALO (3, Reach). Just sayin'.
