Release SP and MP separately (on Steam).

$60 is not a big risk. Crysis 2 is worth it.
Summed up :)

I'm kidding, Crysis Wars wasn't bad. I just don't see why it didn't have lean.

explain me why do you need lean in crysis wars

btw this whole topic about selling mp and sp separately is a bit stupid if you think on the producers perspective, of course for the client would be better, but for the producer would imply less sales and more distribution costs, cause you would need two boxes, two sort of manuals, the boxes would take twice much space and would cost twice as much to get delivered and so on

Some people like singleplayer, some people like multiplayer. Some like both. From what I can tell from the videos that have been released for Crysis 2, SP is going to be awesome. Multiplayer, if it follows the trend of the previous 2 games, may not be so great. So if Crysis is going to be $60, release singleplayer as $30 and multiplayer as $30, or whatever. You'll get more sales this way, because if multiplayer doesn't have stuff like lean and prone as it's rumored to be, I will probably not pay $60 just to play the campaign, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Sign if you agree.

Wow, this is probably the most stupid idea I have seen in a long time.

Not really paul. It's actually quite a good idea that will boost sales.

On the other side, it'll likely lose crytek money. Since, let's face it, if call of duty for example did a 'pay half and half' system, they'd lose half the revenue!

Okay, so for solid copies this may be a bad idea, but what about digital distribution? I see no reason why Steam couldn't separate the two.

That's because Activision is content with releasing half-assed games. Crytek is a little better about that.

It doesn't make online first person shooters any more interesting :/ I'd only pay for the single player aspect of crysis 2. I'm just so damn bored of online shooters really. Especially twitch games like cod. I can handle battlefield games far more often though, probably because of the teamwork aspect.

My favourite pvp game of all time is probably guild wars at the moment! So much nicer to win based on thought and tactics instead of connection, expensive mice and too much coffee. Not to say i don't still do well on first person shooters, it's just a bit samey. There's only so many ways you can make shooting fake guns at other players on a small map interesting.
