Beat Downs and The Feline

Post » Tue Oct 26, 2010 9:14 am

I love Crysis 2. Currently level 30 - Fav class is Energy Transer, Stealth, Mobility.

I have 2 complaints about the game.

1. Feline is way overpowered
2. Beat downs are so erroneous I can't even describe

1. I feel like the only gun that can compete with the Feline is the Scarab, and lets be serious, its just a less effective Feline. This gun makes the M16 in Modern Warfare, ACR in MW2, and the AK74u and Famas in Black Ops look balanced.

2. I can't count the times in which I've beat down people without actually hit them, and vice versa. Watching a kill cam of a player swinging wildly a good 3-4 feet away from my character and getting a beat down for it is infuriating to say the least. I understand that this is a problem with FPS's, because every single one has a beat down problem, but this is by far the worst beat down detection of any legit FPS.

If these 2 things get fixed I will be so happy (Especially Beat Downs).

Yeah I agree with you, I would assume that the feline and k-volt would be something like a SMG class with a high rate of fire, mobility, and short to medium range if tapped. The rate of fire it puts out will almost cancel out other guns because of how fast the gun registers i've seen this in many games before. Shot gun, and secondarys need more beef.
IDK....mabye I was dreaming....

I'm sorry I just don't buy it. The scar gives you tons of range with the benefit of great accuracy for nailing headshots. The feline gives you great mobility, but its range and damage is small. The k-volt completly drains energy within the first couple of shots, crippiling the oppenent. The point is none is significantly overpowered than the other. Scar with good aim can take out anyone, feline with good mobility skills lets you suprise attack. The k-volt is a stick and move gun. try taking a couple of shots destroying theyre energy and quickly sprint around and flank. Theyre are numerous strats for all these guns, you just have to understand how to counter, and what the strengths of your gun are.

This.

SCAR beats Feline at distance, likely loses up close. Grendel beats SCAR at distance, likely loses to full automatic up close. Etc, etc.

Every weapon in this game is useful and none seems overpowered. They all either accel at something and lose to another weapon in a different situation or are middle of the road at everything and just well rounded.

Most of the time people, or the the whole team doesn't camp... So to that end eveyone runs around more then sits, and while the run around in cloak with the feline. It makes for an unbalanced game, its like shotgun rolling with Gears 1 or 2 don't tell me this **** is perfect because I will tell you, you are wrong.

Dont see how the feline is OP, it has feck all power at any kind of range but yes the melee is very queer how people just box you in a corner and panic melee.

The melee should have a cooldown time or it should be like the campagin super punch so when you melee it takes up energy.

It doesn't matter on how much damage the gun does your not reading and understanding what the OP speaks about is true, you can deny it as much as you want to defend your play style but the fact of the matter it is like the ACR in MW2 or the AK47u in BOPS I mean the rate of fire trumps the higher damage of a bigger slower rate of fire weapon, stats don't lie and neither do constant similarities in forum postings of the same problem, when a gun fires a much higher rate of fire it may not have the same damage but the rate x damage makes it greater than that of its assault rifle counterpart in short, medium and long range putting it way over powered I mean think about it. I've seen it and I’ve played more than most people I can guarantee you this gun is effective as far as an assault rife which is ****, its suppose to be an SMG and act like one not, a **** SMG with long range that is BULL **** ****.

felines crap. Scarab raqes. Nuff said. Why because ive sat on the game scince its release and immediately realised how weak the feline was. Sounds like someone running at you with a pair of hair clippers. scarab on the other hand dont **** about....blows your face off and sounds like...well...nothing because your face has just been annihilated

you forgot the feline has less ammo. you have too reload after every kill with that thing. i can get 2 kills with the scar easy before reloading.

I don't see how the Feline beats the SCARAB. The SCARAB is a great all-rounder with a pretty good ROF and range. Add a Reflex Sight onto it and maybe Aim Enhance and you've got a beast of a weapon that raqes everything in its path.
