The halo:reach story made me rage, mainly because i'm a halo fan ><

(it was wrong and inconsistent in so many ways)

How so?

Anyway, I agree with the person that said they need more PSN and XBL advertisemants those are usually really eye catching, heck Im buying something right now cause of one

There's too many to list, apart from the fact none of it actually matches up with the fall of reach book and there are several in-continuities (such as, for example, cortana and the MC at the beginning of halo 1 know each other enough to be bantering, yet according to reach (the game) they never met until then - the chief being pre-frozen and all).

Also, reach had a huge military force and in the game looks like their huge armies (and the 250 or so [non-existant i might add] mac cannons) were taken over by about half the fleet that attacked earth (remember in halo 2? 'the fleet that attacked reach was 50 times this size'), the book version was amazing, huge spaceship battles and the fight for the MAC gun control center on reach was a pivotal point (that the covenant obviously won). The game version was basically 'oh look! a spaceship, time for the token space fight!'.

Some things weren't wrong. But the fact they were never mentioned, yet so important to why reach actually feel it all felt a bit like they were scared to put more than 20 enemies on screen lest the xbox blew up. Makes me wonder sometimes what it would've been like if it were a pc exclusive aimed at running on cards like the hd5870 or a new console had come out beforehand, then makes me sad at what we've missed out on in the name of the quick buck.

No, I'm quite sure there are crappy games. Take, for example, Mirror's Edge. What a splendid idea, gone so terribly wrong that it makes me want to throw up in the developers' faces.

That's one truly terrible game. Terrible. Terrible beyond the imaginable. Not getting into specifics here, but there are **** games out there. There are "niche" games, yes, such as Section 8, for example, but that doesn't mean that all **** games are just meant for a "different audience".

As for this live action thing. You might want to elaborate. I've never seen it. I don't know what it is.

Thank you
Iceman
I take it you haven't played the Time Trial mode in Multiplayer? Cause if you had you'd probably realize you just haven't experienced the best of the game because you ran through it without thinking of more efficient ways to overcome obstacles. If you look at the ways the pros take in time trial you'll stuff you didn't even think was possible and if you, like me, spend the entire SP mode trying to get the most out of the game then you'll have genuine fun there, too.

EA doesnt consider Crytek as a serious company to make good games, and I think that Crytek should move on to a different publisher or handle it first party.

Ubisoft sure has a ton of downsides, but they handled Crytek with much more interest, pumped a **** more money into the Far Cry release, it was much more supported, and that resulted in a better release both sales and quality wise for Crytek's debut title.

EA has been handling the Crysis 2 release with so much animosity that even the base fans are having a general disinterest for the title. EA had horrible support for Crysis 1 and pressured Crytek into releasing that game early with tons of bugs which was soon abandoned, and Crysis 2 seems to be a complete marketing disaster with tons of potential like the first game.

I think that Crytek has made some huge mistakes since 2005, the biggest certainly being selling the Far Cry franchise and moving over to EA as their publisher.
Gotta say, I didn't expect this from you... I don't know if you and everyone else here are right and EA are doing a **** job, or if Crytek vouched to handly their stuff themselves and that's why it's not working out, or whatever. There are many possibilities in my eyes as I have no inside information. Maybe they want it this way, keep it on the down low until very late and one month before release Crysis will pop up all over the internet and the PC version will be shown etc, kind of a shock an awe strategy. OR maybe internally they already know they're going to delay a second time, so we're wondering why marketing is so sparse while they know why they do what they do. I wouldn't want to decide which theory is most likely so I'm just gonna wait and see a little longer.

Well if Crytek does delay Crysis 2 again until the end of 2011, I will be getting Battlefield 3 instead because the beta for that is rumoured for the end of 2011 and that will simply be a once in a lifetime experience of true epicness. ^-^ I can't wait for Crysis 2 any longer than they have put it off already.

That's a bit depressing for Crysis 2, have faith in Crytek :) . Crysis 2 is worth any wait, that kind of talk in posting will only depress some others, who still have no capability of understanding the current situation. The game has been polished yes, its Sp footage is available yes and its almost time for the release (Very "Yes"). Have some patience :)

Im saying if it gets delayed again... ;)

BF3 > Crysis 2 at this point, by LONG AND FAR. However, I am afraid BF3 is still console port because it's still using Frostbite.... :(

Trust me, it won't be delayed again. The only reason for delay was the fact they didn't want to put it up against the COD release.

OK lets start my take on things...
Right now I'm around the age of 14 and a half, a kid right?
When the first Crysis came out, I had no idea whatsoever what it is, i wasn't even that into the whole gaming community yet, being roughly 11 years old. My dad showed Crysis to me, he being a huge computer enthusiast and benchmark loving guy... When I saw it the PC could barely run it at medium settings yet i was amazed, I fell in love with that game. I played the SP several times until I eventually bought it, dove into MP and started my "hardcoe" gaming (hours a day EVERY day).
A year or so after release, I searched the web for some "hype" on Crysis, couldn't find any. I asked around friends and forums and what i found is that Crysis got around to its mediocre popularity by 1 guy telling his friend about it etc.

Now when the Crysis 2 teaser came out I started to follow it closely, and indeed, the summer was very Crysis-ee. In E3 the showed a whole bunch about it, same in GDC etc. and several trailers came out in that short time span of a few months. In that time I felt it was big, on YouTube videos console players were hyped, future for Crysis 2 seemed bright, and then, somewhere around Oct/Nov, everything stopped, no more trailers, no new info, no interviews, and no one talked about it, Crysis 2 is pretty much forgotten now.( in the mainstream and console crowd).
Unless Crytek and EA start some MASSIVE marketing campaign NOW I am sure that Crysis 2 will have the same fate as it's predecessor. I believe that were EA/Crytek to release it back in September, Crysis 2 would have sold good, being a big thing at the time.

Because the releasedate was pushed back by EA the marketing stopped (and believe me when I say it was EA who pushed it back, Crytek was ready for release). No new trailers, information etc was released. I am convinced this will soon change again, building up a new hype.
EA has a massive marketing machine so no doubt they will do what is necessary.

Don't worry about it being delayed again. It won't. And EA certainly considers Crytek to be a serious company, can't say anymore on that tough. Just wait and see. ;)

There we go again, have faith. That's all you need at this point for Crysis 2.
