That was probably the most boring preview ever...

My expectations for Crysis 2 are high,,, but not as high as for its predecessor.
I mean what are these guys thinkin? A Crysis 1 in New York on a console with a controller?
I mean ...come on, this just wouldnt work. Crysis 1 was designed to be a pure Pc game and consoles just can not offer a similiar gaming experience. So it must be different than the first game. I hope that i can enjoy the more fast- action- gameplay- style that Crysis 2 will expectably have.

One thing still bothers me though:
An older article on that website declared that the console version of Crysis 2 will look as good as Crysis 1 on Pc.
This is simply impossible! It will look not even close than Crysis or warhead on very high - enthusiast because thats technically impossible to do. The texture size and any resolution near 720P would burst every console to pieces. Not to mention that you cant use huge detailed draw distances as they appear in C1 and WH. Just stop that kind of advertisemant for the CE3. You cant fool enthusiast PC gamers by saying that old consoles could do as good as a 1000 € gamer Pc. No optimization in the world could achieve this scenario!

I think you're referring to the first C2TV episode which mentions Cevat's goal was for Crysis 2 on console to look as good as Crysis 1. We're not talking about trying to make consoles compete with the PC, but rather pushing them to their limits and making the game look as good as it possibly can.

Then you will inevitably fail, consoles will never see the like of crysis 1 this generation (unless you mean medium settings with high shaders at a low resolution! :D). However you can make consoles look decent with some compromise, and from what i've seen you're getting a helluva lot our of those hugely outdated hardware.

Makes me wonder how much you guys could get out of a hd5870/gtx480 with the same effort, then i get annoyed that consoles are stagnating this industry :p
