from what ive read, if you can run crysis, you can run crysis 2. potentially better, in fact. ive also heard that its going to "push the limits of pcs" so i could be wrong.

No. To put it bluntly. I also refuse to believe you run crysis very high (low shaders at 800x600 with every non-taxing setting very high at 15-20fps, i could maybe believe). I had a laptop card 4 times more powerful and i ran medium across the board. My current system blows that one out of the water and sailing into the moon and that plays crysis very high across the board.

Long story short Your gpu is far too weak and the cpu too for getting anywhere close to very high, or even medium tbh :(

Sorry!

P.S. However, whatever settings you are currently running at, you will definitely run crysis 2 at, and hopefully a bit better. I can't see how you're running very high though. Can you give me a accurate description of your settings, including resolution? :) if nothing else for my curiosity.

well, considering that chip provided half the performance of my old lappy which did medium across the board, i'd say you've either reported the wrong video chip or your idea of 'running well' is vastly different from my own :D

No, I do not think you will be able to play Crysis 2 well at all...

You first off need a new graphics card, and that processor isnt doing yourself too much justice either.

You may do okay if you run at very low resolutions like 800x600 on low... for you to say that you can play Crysis at all, let alone on high settings, stuns me! You must have made a mistake in telling us your hardware...

see, hyper's i can believe. It looks about right.

you're just miles off the mark blingdog, even with medium shaders you can't be pulling more than 10fps or so if you ran at something like 1280x720. Maybe you're running at 800x600. In which case i heartily recommending dropping to medium across the board and going up to 1280x720 at least.

No it wont run it. I'd be surprised if the 210 would even manage to play any real 3d application at all.

Geforce 210 basicly is a card thats ment for Videoplayback etc, not really gaming.
Your CPU is allright, Pentium Dual Core 2.1Ghz.

If your gonna play games on that i would put it in a Notebook stand.

I got my Notebook in a Stand with a Cooler, Wireless Mouse (gaming type), and a 2.1 Speakerset wen im at home, and wen i run something like Crysis or Stalker on there the tempratures still get near to 100 celcius :p

Luckly its not my main system though.

Have we slipped into a parallel dimension where low end computer parts out perform £700 systems? o.O also getting only 40fps on half life 2 then a massive 30fps on gta4 is a huge discrepency!

you're vastly outperforming what is expected on gta4 with your cpu :/ even i7's can't push past 60fps. Very low draw distances ect. i assume :)

Basically, you can play the games (which is always good), but i'm assuming the performance you're getting is due to low resolutions, which obviously we assume that most users play at 1280x720 minimum :)

Also, did you use fraps to check the framerates?

Right there you have a DX11 card, If Crysis 2 is Fully DX11 tessellation compatible, then it's supposed that the game will run really smooth since tessellation reduces and increases the polygon amount to produce better visuals/performance.

There was recent proof of Dx11 tessellation/compatibility with Cryengine 3 some where (Check google/yahoo). I would, but I do not have the right to say if that will be the same for Crysis 2. Yet, one can speculate while its still early.

Well I'm worried about requirements because of the implementations of Direct X11 and it cutting your frames in half so ya I'm wondering what the requirements are and needing a demo to bench before purchase...

Such features that 'cut frames in half' would cause you to run about a tenth of the speed on dx9 regardless (full screen post processing on dirt 2 for example, would result in about 5fps or so in dx9). For games like dirt 2 it was well worth losing 20fps (to 60fps or so from 80fps) to gain the much better looking game :) Not like i saw those extra frames anyway ^^

That of course, was because the dx9 version of dirt 2 used pretty old school rendering affects that toasters could run, any differences from dx10 to dx11 crysis 2 would be far less (or maybe even better).
