Crysis Crashes on logo screen (Tried everything on support)

Post » Wed Dec 01, 2010 9:03 am

Hello Crytek,

I baught crysis on friday and i got the limited edition, i played the demo which worked beautifully on my computer, So i thought "oh then the full edition should work like a charm". So i baught it installed it on my computer started it and then BAM...Crashes on the crytek logo.

I have tried everything that was said on the support file included with the game, and i have tried a few other things i saw around on the internet. These things include:

Updating my Graphic drivers - DONE
Running Crysis 2 as administrator - DONE
Closing background programs with task manager - DONE
Checked my monitor settings - DONE
And yes my system does meet the requirements to play the game. As im sure a £1700 rig is able to play it fine.

All of my friends who have the game can run it fine, no crashing at all. And then i found out they are all running Windows 7 32-bit. I am running 64-bit so im sure it has something to do with this.

Please could you help me with this. I don't want this to be another £30 down the drain, this has happened so many times.

PS: I couldnt help to notice. Looking at the game files it said bin32 which made me think, they havn't just made this game for 32bit have they? that would be stupid.

So anyway hope you can help and thanks in advance.

Ryan.

(Sorry for Double-Post)

UN-SOLVED

I disabled my firewall and added an exception on AVG, but to be honest this shouldnt have to be done.

----===EDIT===----

I take back my "SOLVED" remark and put it back as unsolved ._. . It worked, then i closed it to upgrade my account to liited edition and then when i tried to start it again, it started to crash again like normal (or atleast normal for me ._.)

come on Crytek, fix this its getting annoying. I've tried EVERYTHING on this planet to fix this.

Found a fix, dunno if your reading this but it's the logo cinematic thats crashing it. i can get in every time now. (if you got into you crysis folder go into gamecrysis2 and delete the video.pak and then go into fastload and delete those it will remove the videos but it will also kill all the videos in single player)
