Crysis 2 SP Melee and Stealth kill bug ( CM please look )

Hiya. I just wanted to report a bug with the melee and stealth kill button.

When you get killed sometimes you load up without the ability to melee or perform a stealth kill. I'm on the PC version btw. The button prompt doesn't show and it just doesn't work.

Fixes are either pick up a different weapon and try (not guaranteed)

Load into the next checkpoint.

Or exit your current game and reload.

Hopefully this gets fixed in the next patch.

Both my father and I have the same issue and it's extremely aggravating. I play both the PC & Xbox 360 version while he currently only plays the PC.

Now, the problem is by far more common for us on the PC version than on the 360 (360 version only does it a fraction of the time), and it's not only the ability to melee and stealth kill that's lost, but also the ability to toggle our weapon's selector switch. It does this seemingly at random and the only fix we've discovered, which unfortunately is only temporary, is to completely exit the game to the desktop/Xbox Dashboard and restart it.

Needless to say, it's extremely frustrating when you get killed because the keys stop working all of a sudden.

I have the same issue on Crysis 2 PC (bought through Steam). Sometimes swapping weapons will return functionality (re-binding the keys does not), but 90% of the time it requires a full exit and re-launch of Crysis 2.

Coupled with another issue where all of my Nano Catalyst points are reset upon reloading a save (similar) and I've found it's in my best interest to not even play the campaign until a patch (hopefully) can fix these issues. Unfortunately that's what I bought it for.

I reported this same issue a few days ago and still haven't seen any response from the Devs as to whether it will be fixed or not. Plain and simple: It's a game stopper bug.

I'm quite disappointed that no official has responded to this report of the Melee/Stealth Kill option getting lost after dying and having to start again from a saved checkpoint. This is happening all too frequently for me and it's a show stopper.

Also, as a prior commercial game Beta Tester [not on this project, though] I can say with almost 100% certainty that this bug is NOT new. There's no way this wasn't caught and reported during testing. And, the fact that the devs aren't addressing it tells me that it's something that totally stumps them, too. Yet, the game was released anyway...probably with a statement....if there was one...that went something like this: "Don't worry about that bug, we have to get the game out and we'll deal with it later."

same issue and its really pissing me off as i get most of my kills from steath and melee. I've given up on single player till they fix it

No response yet? Really? Can we please, please, please get a response to this issue. I was hoping the patch that was scheduled for this week would fix it but even that is a no show. This is one of the funnest games I've played but this bug is so annoying.
