Controller configurations/remappable buttons on consoles?

Post » Wed Dec 08, 2010 7:51 am

Has the development team commented on controller configurations and whether or not buttons will be re-mappable for the console versions?

I ask because I use an Xbox 360 controller on the PS3 via a XCM Cross Battle as I find the controller to be much more comfortable. However, many PS3 games use L1/R1 for aiming and shooting, but on the 360 it's a lot more natural to use the triggers (L2/R2) for that. It's my hope the game will allow us to use the triggers to shoot/aim on PS3, so I'm checking to see if anything has been said about controller options.

Thanks!

uh theres probably a way to set your gameplay options to use the triggers, like in most games, just go to game options and yit will say "controller configuration" and you can change what you have

Some games allow you to, a lot don't. I was curious if the developers had said anything about controller configurations although I knew that was something of a longshot.

Most would agree, but as stated I use an Xbox 360 controller on the PS3, which has a different shape and makes the triggers much more natural for aiming and shooting. It's also a much more comfortable controller for my hands, which is why I use it in the first place.

And I know there actually are some dual shock users who prefer L2/R2.

Options are always a good thing. Most PC games allow for a lot of customization but many console games limit it. Perhaps Crytek's PC history will encourage them to allow more customizable control configurations than most.
