Back to the topic, I've heard of Bodycount, but yeah, not sure if it's good or what (I'll leave my judgement of the game there).
But what the dev said is completely true, unless you're Activision, who prefer to milk the cow first before moving forward (In this case, with only 2 years of development, the game isn't going innovate), the franchise will stay the same and won't really change.
But innovating a FPS isn't easy, as it's already an innovate thing already (Well back in the 90's it was). I think many FPS's are doing well to distance themselves from CoD, without changing the FPS formulae.
I want Crysis 2 to put more emphasis on story, and they have. Something which will last longer than the average FPS will be nice.
