I just want to know why? I know Crytek decided to do this, but why? this means if my ps3 corrupts.....thats it! everythings gone, and i'm not paying £40 for PS+ just to upload my game save, your game is awesome in every way i just want to know why you did this Crytek :P

Game data never copys over unless you do a direct ps3 to ps3 data transfer the save data however you can back up using ps cloud if your a ps plus member.

They put locks on to stop cheating. I agree though, it svcks. I don't want to subscribe to PlayStation Plus, even for £11.99 for 90 days because they never put anything up there that appeals to me. But if my PS3 goes, i'm screwed.

Most likely if my PS3 shows signs of it about to go to the great big console heaven, i'll take a quick Plus subscription out.

i know i'm not really worried i'd just rather have my game save somewhere safer really, i want an explanation why they chose to have the game saves locked.

As I said, companies put locks on to prevent cheating. Don't know why they care so much though.

Has any one even considered the one simple thought that one day in the not too distant future that you want to upgrade your ps3 hard drive to fit every thing that you have.and that when this day comes, this will put your crisis 2 saves as well as the redemption code you get for getting the limited edition on ps3 at risk?......well.I'm at this cross road right now.I have a hefty 500 GB HDD ready for my ps3.but before I do any swapping of the hdd.I emailed the tech group and have not gotten a response as to what I should do.can any one help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????
I don't want to lose my precious saves or even the limited edition redemption code.if ea replies saying that I have to pay to get a new redemption code I will give up on crisis 2.!!!!!!!!!

What save-data is it that you are so afraid of losing, the single-player data?

You can save your data online with PSN Plus. I agree save file locking svcks and there should be a way to do this without paying for a Plus account, but that's a way to do it if you're really desperate.

Guys it isnt big problem,if you already have PS3 slim,if your PS3 die and you ll get a new one, just swap the new HDD for the old(all HDDs are same in PS3 slim, but if your PS3 FAT dies, you re screwed, cauz PS3 fat is using different type of HDD than PS3 slim and SONY isnt making PS3 fat anymore). Im pissed too, that i cant duplicate my data on external HDD,but like i said, easiest way is just swap new HDD for old
