Network Connection is down more often than my X gf's panties

Post » Sun Dec 26, 2010 5:55 pm

Don't know any other place to put this, so forgive me if this is the wrong place.

I like this game. I really really do. It's the best FPS MP I've come across. The problem is that after most matches it drops the network (I mean 90-95% of the time). and about 1 game in 20 I end up losing connection in the middle of a match (usually when I am on a good run - Murphy's Law applies here).

At first I thought it was quitters, but I don't believe there are that many quitters out there. So it must be the network then. Well I'm lucky enough to be on vacation right now, so playing during the day. Historically, the time my network connection slows down is between 18:00 and 21:00, and during my games today [it's now 16:37 local time], whenever I've been able to see the summary screen at the end of the match, I am showing full signal.

This is really starting to put me off. I estimate that I am completing (and saving the results of) less than one game per hour.

My NAT is Type II, and to ensure that nothing else was affecting the game, I ensured that no other devices were accessing the internet.

So if any Dev's are reading, or if anyone can help, please let me know, as it would be a shame to stop playing what is a near perfect game.

Oh you'll see her business card in most phone booths. Besides, you wouldn't like most of the things she has got - except most of my freakin money

Well they're currently being used as wall hangings. You see, she used to come home froma night out and I would ask "Did you have a good night". She would be so drunk she couldn't remember, so she would throw her panties at the wall, and if they stuck she would say "Yes, I must have"

Back to the real problem please. I have this same problem. I love this game but it seems that it's impossible to play a full game. I constantly get host migration, and it counts down to 0 and then the game is over. I have a 60mbit connection, fiberglass, normally no PL and very low ping in game. Also i have checked my modem and it hasn't been disconnected for 2 days (when i personally rebooted it). On my pc/laptop i have no d/c's and the playstation doesn't signout when this happens. When the migration screen appears, i can still hear some people talking as if they are still playing and they don't get this migration screen.

I have updated crysis 2 to the newest version on my playstation and i hope that this could be solved. I have just like the threadopener, NAT II with upnp ON.

Well my X gf seems to be a popular topic but if you insist...

I got fed up with this so this evening I rang EA tech supp. They emailed me this stuff below. It has helped a lot, network connection probs are far less. give it a try and let me know

Thank you for contacting EA Support regarding your FIFA 11 freezing issues on your Play Station 3.
As a fellow gamer myself, I can sertainly understand what you are going thrugh and the frustration that comes with the inconvenience.
I assure you I will do the best I can to get this issue resolved for you.
As stated on the phone, it is possible that with executing these steps you will no longer be able to play online nor will your game data utility update.
I am sending these steps as requested by yourself and do apologize if after the completion you are unable to access your online pass, this is due to the Play Station Network.

I know you have already executed some of the following steps but if you would please do so again to ensure all steps are completed.

Disable Media Server Connect
-> Go to the Cross Media Bar (main menu)
-> settings
-> network settings
-> media server connect enabled, press x to disable

Delete Game Data Utility
-> Go to the Cross Media Bar (main menu)
-> Game
-> Game data utility
-> Folder option for all games (look for specific game) and hit triangle
-> Delete game data utility

Clear PS3 Cache & Cookies
1. From the Go to the Cross Media Bar (main menu) select Network.
2. Select Internet Browser.
3. After the Internet Browser appears press the Triangle button.
4. Select Tools on the Options menu.
5. Select Delete Cookies or Delete Cache then select Yes to confirm.

Now proceed to Crysis 2, if it continues to freeze please proceed to the next steps.
Please Power Cycle your Router/Modem
1. Turn off your computer. When it has shut down completely, proceed to the next step.
2. If you have a router, remove the power cable. Wait thirty seconds.
3. Next, remove the power cable from the modem (either at the wall or at the modem). Wait thirty seconds.
4. Plug your modem back in.
5. Plug your router back in.
6. Turn your computer back on. When it is completely powered up, you should have your Internet connection back.

If this procedure hasn't resolved your issue, You will need to contact your "router/modem" provider to ensure the following ports are opened.
Crysis 2 (PS3)
TCP Ports: 80, 443
UDP Ports: 3658

********EDIT********
Spoke too soon, seems to be up and down again

this topic is retarded.

If it's retarded, why are you reading it?
If it's retarded, why have you posted here?
What qualifies you to make a judgement about a topics value? Are you retarded yourself or is a member of your family retarded, or maybe you're a medical professional?

Don't forget you always have a choice - you don't have to read/post here!!
