I agree hands down.
Crysis 1 and Warhead were completely unique in the sense that they had there own story, there own element and everything was wide open. You gained respect because the game you made couldn't run on most platforms at their maximum settings. In fact I built a PC based around this game. You could modify every element in the settings and even max out for the chance to get just a few minutes of beauty. As better technology came out the game seemed to flourish.
The story was unique and even the suits seemed awesome. Finally the United States had created something that could give a huge edge on the battle field. We got to know Nomad, and all the other Characters. We at the end of Crysis one went chasing after Prophet. So now we sat for so long what would happen and how would we work together as a team once more. What would happen of our British friend who called everyone a Muppet and what of Nomad who explored the inner workings of this buried alien ship of some kind. Heck the aliens even seemed to thrive on the cold and froze everything around them. Nuclear weapons Galvanized them. So we waited for you to fill in the blanks
WHAT WE GOT INSTEAD: Years and years of pissing and moaning by the developer about pirates and not making enough money. Crying and weeping instead of seeing how you did something unique and dangerous and hey you did make your money just not enough of it. Your solution? Nerf the graphic, nerf the system that served you well and come up with a new direction. This direction is a closed environment. With aliens unrecognizable from the first with villains that resemble that of Mass Effect with the grunts and then a heavily armored version. The character we got wasn't prophet or Nomad or the Brit. Instead noooo we got some Gordon freeman rip off no talker, that seemed to merge Call of Duty and Halo all in to one. No originality this game was purely designed around the console. With the console in mind you nerfed everything. The graphics we loved and the ability to play along with customizing our Nano suite? Are you kidding me? Technologies that simply where not there in the first one. Then we have some story that an old guy got a hold of the technology. That the suits were symbiotic? Where the hell is my team. I figured it would be a good old resourceful team that would defeat the aliens. Not some living suit that AI takes over.
Seriously, you got all timid with the lack of sales and just did what worked with everyone else. The environments are closed. There no longer that anticipation of getting to a Vehicle and going across a huge map. No more cat and mouse. No more Flying around and all the awesome stuff we got to love about the game. No more versatility. You sold old and sure you will make more money. But you only made it because the PC gamers decided to buy what they thought would be another pushing the envelope game. I should have known when I read on the box you were going in an entirely new direction. We have already played All the Half life spin offs. Now we just have another.
Go back to your roots or quit. Cause you turned your back on the people who made you. I bought your game dammit. But all you did was cry about the few pirates out there. Next time just stream line what you already have instead of starting over. Now I got to wait for some Console user who has only played the second game to tell me the PC user how awesome this game was.... RIDICULOUS
