NYC *spoiler*

Post » Sat Jan 01, 2011 4:01 pm

I have to say...while going through the campaign I felt depressed about NYC being totalled like that...by the end of the game the city had been destroyed so much, It was beyond reconstruction. I'm from Canada and have been to NYC...I love that city and hate to see it ravaged like that...even in a video-game.

Anyone else felt sad about that?

I felt better about it when I passed the game and stopped the nuke attack. The city would be even worse off if that had happened.

I have to say though, one thing that made me really like the campaign was being able to play in places that I had actually been to, like Grand Central Station, it made the experience much enjoyabel as I could relate to the places I was in.

That part with 'central park' rising into the sky...holy fudge that was epic.

I would be honoured if Crytek chose London, even thought I live there.

Well, it looks like you'll get your wish in 'MassEffect 3' ...The reapers will take care of it.

i'll be visiting London for the first time later this year...can't wait.

I haven't been to New York City, but I really respect what Crytek were able to do. The design is amazing in the way that they were able to completely destroy and change major NY locations into very interesting levels. The ones where you travel through NY *SPOILER*after the city is partially flooded*END OF SPOILER* is particularly awe-inspiring.

My only critisism was they could have gone further when you defend Times Square. It would've been great if some of the major buildings collapsed in the middle of defending it.

The scale of the destruction in the game really sold me on the experience though. It really reminded me of Cloverfield from 2008.

TO be compeltely honest. I feel afraid of feeling a sort of... empathy with what hardgreave thoughts. "you would have thought the virus would have s rot of cleansing effect on this cesspit... unfortunately what now resides in it is not much of an improvement"

Its "pretty" to look at. But thats where the "pretty ends". Always loved games were Politicians got a taste of bad stuff just as much as civies
