They've got some great features on all platforms, my only fear now is that graphics have reached their ultimate peak on consoles, with nothing else left to squeeze out.

Nope. Crytek has said that we haven't yet reached the limit. Their own words.

Really? To be perfectly honest console games have been graphically compromising (halo 3 vs. halo reach for example), not improving, for a while, so i'd like to see this 'limit' in action

I just get the feeling by the the time they have to admit 'yes, this is all we can do', it'll be 2015 and consoles will be so,so,so far behind PC's no-one will give a damn XD

The next xbox will use AMD fusion II APU's by the looks of it. Therefore PC's are already ahead of the next generation xbox by a fair margin. It'll be an excellent improvement over the 360 though.

However, regardless of what they use, they have two choices. The first is to try and keep up with PC's, in which case the xbox 3 will be a minimum of about ￡400, hotter than the sun, and die a lot. Since they won't have the cooling. The other is that they won't get close and settle for current mid-range pc performance like the ps2 days (Fusion II). Both M$ and Sony made large losses for a long time this generation, i think they'll stop trying to keep up with the PC.

I hope so Still, one thing i hope for next generation is more cross platform stuff and the ability to use KB+M on all console games.

Also, it'd be feasible cryfan. Depending on the size of the psp2, one of the tiny low-end second generation fusions would easily thrash a 360 and would work in such a form factor. This generations 'zacate' APu's at least equal the xbox in graphics power, they just need more cpu grunt.
