Fail alien bacteria not virus

Post » Sat Jan 01, 2011 8:00 pm

Bacteria performs cell division - Viruses enter a host cell and multiply until the host cell is completely used up and filled with copies of the virus. The cell then expands and explodes.

Clearly, it's a bacterial infection, which means it can be easily cured.

Something like this, I don't care about, although when a story Blatently contradicts itself when your are in two places in one time, I don't like.

the man makes a point lol, then again, the whole virus plot is awful, why on earth did it even make it into the game.

orginally it was
Aliens are bad and powerful n killing humans.
crysis 2 tried to be smart with the suit being symbiotic and a guy that was alive 100 years orcatrated everything to defeat the aliens by turning their biowep against them... dont like.

I guess you like simple campaigns I guess?

Aliens vs humans, humans win, yay!

I liked everything about the plot, I didn't see the point of the virus seemed to not influence the story at all. But still one of the best stories I've ever played, love the SP.

I found it interesting, It raises questions, and gives few answers, and left me wondering about things, In comparisent to call of duty campaigns and battle field campaigns I found it alot more in-depth and my cup a tea.

I doesn't feel like mindless killing, like a huge tutorial for multiplayer.

....I dont understand why the trying to put "smart into the game"... is the future. is aliens. Putting current knowledge of microbiology into something aliens made is completely unfounded. Is like a 2000 year old ....Greek playing a game and saying "machines that fly are comepletely insane... is fake".... I mean seriously.

It's a virus. It takes over human cells and makes them an exact copy of itself, not by using the cell to breed more copies. But to make it into a copy of itself... a slushy goo.

Put some brain into it... but not too much.

are you sure this would absolutley apply to aliens from another planet? maybe their cell structure works diffrent from ours.

I would like to point out that the Opening Poster has absolutely no clue whether or not a totally alien Virus created by a super advanced species predating mankind would operate as Bacteria do or even be treated with EARTHmade vaccines.

How do you cure the ALIEN flu with EARTHmade Nyquil? You don't. OP is an idiot.

Actually the flu is a virus, so we can't even "cure" that with current medicine. But yeah you're right, just because its a bacteria doesn't mean we could easily kill it with anitbiotics, we already have strains of bacteria now that are resistant to antibiotics so its entirely plausible an extraterrestrial bacteria could be totally resistant to all antibiotics.

You can cure anything given enough time. That's what genetics is all about no matter where it came from. We all came from the same building blocks, and we all can trace them back to the same place. Besides let an AI go at it, and it will figure it out :P

this will probably sound stupid, but seeing as how the aliens were on earth before man and they seemed to belong their wouldn't we be more aliens then them. Also i didn't play crysis 1 so i don't know how the aliens got their that could change my answer. the defienition of aliens from google is stranger: anyone who does not belong in the environment in which they are found

ACtually Kibbles your dead on. basically they are squids.... sentient squids. TO be more accurate though. Viruses from my knowledge dont cross spepcie boundaries except for a few exceptions. ANd most of those exceptions are mostly being carried and dont affect the carrier. Still there are a few who do infect.

But on the scale of the virus. Is a bio weapon design to target humans. From what I hear in the game anything besides human wont even notice anything besides the big black cloud coming at them.

So if it is a bioweapon, genetic targeted bio weapon it means it has a catalyst, and a target protein. Changing those two it can target anything else. Now yes that sounds easier said than done. Evidence by the fact that only an AI was able to device a cure... using nano machine on top of it. The cure wasn't anti biotics, it was nano machines.
