So how long do you think the patch will take?

Note: I do not consider the 1.1 release day patch a true patch, as it just changed minor things in the game for mostly multiplayer and GUI that were just not pushed on the disk due to the time restraint.

So as we all want an unlocked console, advanced graphics options, DX11 and bugfixes, we're all waiting for the unevitable fixes and reimburstments that it would bring. So kinda assuming that Crytek is even working on a patch, how likely are we going to have to wait before we get it?

Going on the previous releases that they have made to the Crysis games, it took them around 2 months to release their first patch for the original Crysis, going by this post: http://crymod.com/thread.php?threadid=15371

For Crysis Warhead, it took them around 3 months going by this post: http://crymod.com/thread.php?threadid=39477

So are we going to have to look for a summer patch for this game? Things are going to sour very fast if they decide to patch it on the same timeframe for these issues that they had with previous games. So what do you guys think?

Summer gaming! It'd be funny if the patch came on my birthday.

Yeah, but I personally think that with them not making any announcements at this point about the patch at all, it is hard to estimate a timeframe of that happening. Logically, it makes sense because they are also planning to release the CryEngine 3 SDK at this time.

I think the hype, launch, and rage at the game would generally at this point spoil the possibility of it making a difference in the perception of this game. I also think that they can't change much in the game given the way it launched except for some of the forementioned issues. Hopefully, they can announce something soon on this but the quietness and silence of any update on how the game is doing after launch or on any patches is really straining the company's reputation and image in the eyes of the PC community.

I also find it odd that it's so silent about upcoming patches. I really hope there will be a patch soon that solves some major problems with the MP part so atleast everyone can play it. Atm I cannot play MP, it keeps telling me it's "lost connection to host" after 3 minutes of gameplay.

I guess they are quite busy as you say, but it's really starting to get quite bad for them. Articles like this keep popping up: http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/03/25/crysis-2-sign-in-problems-lock-players-out-of-the-game/

Although I don't belive Crytek will in anyway abandon the cries of the PC community, but I also think that it's in their best interest to atleast give out news about a patch 1.2. I don't mind if it takes a while aslong as they fix many of the core problems, like SLI and MP being unplayable for some.

I don't care about advanced graphics or dx11. I want to consistently be able to play multiplayer in ranked servers. Until that is fixed the other issues are moot. People have funny priorities. Why bother with those things if half the game doesn't work?

Damn!

At least give us an ESTIMATED DX11 patch timeframe!

Wouldn't have pre-ordered if I knew it was only DX9. Maximum PWNed!
