Nano catalyst reset/unable to collect more.

I started up Crysis 2 and loaded up the save game I left off on from last night. I killed a few of the aliens and collected (what should have been) over 1000 nano catalyst spores. I looked at the suit modifier menu and it said I had collected 0. Killed a few more aliens, the UI kept popping up for each one after collecting the spores - telling me I collected 100, 500, etc. I checked the suit menu again. It still said I had zero units.

I closed the game out. Opened it back up and loaded my save game. I'm still unable to collect any spores. Am I screwed with having a buggy save that wont let me collect any spores (which is just awesome since we can only have one save file, thanks to the rigid checkpoint saving system) or is there a workaround for this?

If theres no workaround, I'd be tempted to set the game aside and play something else until this is fixed, because it makes me feel like I'm getting screwed out of a major selling point of the game if I finish without being able to buy any new suit upgrades.

It's not a buggy save as it's affecting alot of people including me.

The problem is so obvious and so widespread it's shocking that this wasn't picked up during QA and adds to the feeling that the PC version is a rushed botched job.

On another note, does anyone else think it's weird that you can activate only 4 modules from 4 different categories? If at all then allow as to enable 3 modules at once in any combination, so that I can take either ful armor, full stealth, full power or full visor upgrades. It's just so weird! Why would any stealth player pick stealth enhance and then armor enhance when he's never gonna get shot in the first place? Or how about air stomp?
