Anyone had this graphic glitch??

Post » Thu Jan 06, 2011 12:37 pm

Okay, I hadn't played this game in a while (explained later) but I decided to pop it in today. I've beaten it on normal and started playing through the missions on Veteran but got to the level where you have to reach your hand in those alien things and destroy them or whatever.. Well, the problem was that I got to the last one and my little yellow marker was trying to tell me to dig a hole about a mile down in the ground and go there.. Needless to say, I couldn't progress.

Anyway, I started on mission one today on Supersoldier. The biggest glitch I noticed was when you first go outside in to the light, there is light reflecting off the door you walk out of. Well, when I would move, that reflected light had a weird rainbow effect that would stop when I stopped moving. (Definitely not mistaking this for the visor or anything.. The whole door was very distinctly Jimmi Hendrix trippy rainbow colored) The other thing I noticed was the shadows being cast outside would sometimes blink on and off while I was moving.

I suppose it could be my PS3 and not the game.. But I noticed that the game had to update before I played today. Also, my PS3 stays very clean and never (I really mean never) runs even remotely hot. The air blowing out the back is hardly warmer than the room temperature and definitely not even close to how warm the air blowing out of my laptop is.

Anyone seen this glitch? I don't feel like replaying right now but I might replay the mission again later and whip out the Flip Video if anyone shows an interest in this thread. I haven't noticed any problems on any other games and those where the only two issues I saw with this game (keep in mind, I only played the first level and quit for now).

EDIT - typo

Biggest glitch I seen was the floating rock at the beginning of second chance, when you first get up. I turned around and saw a floating rock right next to where I was laying. But I wouldn't worry bout the little graphical glitches. What I am worried about is if that Crytek will ever fix the pistol silencer glitch?

I'm just curious if the graphical glitch I experienced was the game or my PS3. Have no reason to think my PS3 would be failing, but you never know.

You haven't got the fix for the pistol silencer? I though Microsoft took more time with their stupid patch certification. I'm guessing you haven't got an update recently? ( I'm an Xbox Player )

I think it may be your ps3 display settings or the tv either one or both just not being set to the right settings for each other

I don't think any combination of settings between the TV and PS3 could ever make reflected light flash back and forth between rainbow colors and normal..

HOW please tell me HOW mine is always hot, I started to get one of the fans that attach to the back but people said they crap out really fast or buzz etc...

maybe its the model, my new panasonic 25 series is hot 110ish and the 1 I returned was a better model (but didnt upscale 3D) and was cool to the touch

That really shouldn't be the problem... what happened when you got the objective? Did the square button prompt not appear? I don't see how the objective marker being in the wrong place necessarily affects that. Also, the objectives in Dark Heart are very far apart and the objective markers can be a bit confusing. I know you played it for the second time, but are you sure you didn't just forget how to get there?

100% positive. There was no button prompt on the last objective after killing the Heavy (I know that's not what it's called but you know what I'm talking about). My marker was far away and unreachable (literally, I would have had to go underground to get to where it was leading me). I stayed there for about an hour trying to figure it out but I'm certain it was glitched.

Sorry that was confusing, maybe its my PS3 model compared to yours...like my different 25 series model of my TV is hot and the 1 I returned ran really cool but was a better model.

If your ps3 is 1 of the older ones maybe its cooler running where I just got a new series in December and it runs hot
