What kind of hack protection is Crysis 2 going to have? Anyone have a clue? Medal of Honor was hacked as early as the BETA stage, which made me very sad. Hackers can really ruin a game on a bad day. I hope Crytek has something effective up their sleeves to prevent stupid little children from spreading their stupidity into Crysis 2.

I really don't know what kind of protection they build in, but it sure is better to have a save system, to prevent cheaters from ruining the game experience.

Maybe Crytek will get a deal with Valve to run VAC? Since PunkBuster was ineffective in previous games, VAC is pretty much the only other option other than an in-house anticheat solution.

i thought punkbuster worked well with bad company 2.. although there are still cheaters, with admin support there really weren't much (probably 3 i would have seen in over 200 hours)

I think is punkbuster but i prefer vac cause it bans the player even if it is a delayed ban. also punkbuster sometimes lags the game.See cod4 for example

ive got 220 hours playtime in bad company 2 and ive seen so many cheaters . The best way is vac and a votetoban from server option and report service

Hell, yeah, since no one would fix it in the end, and all the cheaters were coming on, I had to use their own tool against them in the end, and beat all of them down. Which I did. And will do again if there is a repeat. Thats the problem when you have servers where the admins never show up.

I remember one guy who had some cheat, and I kept asking him to please stop. Of course, he never would. So I just used LP's cheat to kill him endlessly until he got the message. Works pretty good as an admin tool. When your in the wild, wild, west with no law, you carry a gun and beat the lawless down.

And for those who don't like it, tough ****. I'll tell you I wasn't the only one who used it. And I sure won't be the last. Not in a server with no admins.

VAC is a pathetic and poor hackshield only useful for simple games, such as the games Valve made to actualy use VAC.

PunkBuster is difficult to set up, but once done, it is far more powerful. just take a look at BFBC2

Punkbuster has stopped tons on bc2. Unfortunately it can't just stop them the very moment they activate the cheat, or if a new exploit is about until it's updated. Still, just check the punkbuster ban lists if you want a good indication of it's effectiveness.

That would be great. InHouse cheat protection is the only way your ever going to really stop cheaters. Crysis 1 was completely riddled with holes as LP proved in a devastating way.
