As a Expert in games or which you modern day people call a nerd. i have searched a lot of forum pages in regards to the intro of the video game. well i found a post which stated that the game starts off as us in a prison cell again. Is this true? if so i am sorry to say but it really has gotten old. maybe you can start us off continuing from oblivion and were crossing borders and we end up in skyrim and start us off in the Forrest or something? This would give it a great intro and than maybe we can be captured by the guards for crossing borders and the player can try to run but eventually we get caught and end up in a prison cell and we meet a higher power of skyrim concil and they set us free cause the players name is legend from which we hail from.

Thanks, josh

It has been 200 years since OB to skyrim so your character can't carry over everyone from that time is dead and the empire fell. We are starting off in a prison so everyone can get their own backstory and it is tradition. What you just described in the second part of your post can be your personal backstory but not everyone wants that

You're obviously not a nerd if you don't see that
1) Starting in a prison cell has become almost a tradition in the Elder Scrolls
and 2) Starting in prison lets you start off with a blank slate, which is important for role-playing (hence the term "role-playing game")
Also, as stated previously, it's been 200 years. Your character probably isn't alive.

Have a nice day, and welcome to the forums. Have a http://http://images.wikia.com/tesfanon/images/c/c4/Fishystick.jpg

It's quite conceited to claim yourself an expert, when the games are, according to lore, 200 years apart. Each game is supposed to stand on its own. And a council would not likely exist; Skyrim is in civil war. There is no unity in the north.

Starting as a prisoner is a tradition they want to keep. Traditions aren't absolute, but this one has merit. Each game you start as a lowly prisoner that can rise to a legendary hero. There's a great sense of accomplishment there, contrasting from the Champion of Cyrodiil adding another victory to his belt.

I'll go off of the top of my head here:

433- Martin Septim and the Champion of Cyrodiil (Divine Crusader and Madgod of the Shivering Isles) banish Mehrunes Dagon and the Mythic Dawn cult. Martin dies in the attempt. The Dragon Throne is empty as a result

4th Era

Chancellor Ocato and the Blades attempt to maintain order, but the provinces eventually start capitalizing on the weakened Empire

Titus Mede, a warlord, seizes the Imperial City with only 1000 men. The 'Mede' dynasty has begun

Enter the Elder Scrolls books

200 years later, Esbern, the last of the Blades, rescues us from execution and helps us on our quest to realize our destiny as a Dragon Hunter

I'd recommend the Imperial Library as well, though it IS offline atm and I do not completely trust it.

Dont forget:

4e- ??, but before Infernal city.
Vivecs absence causes the ministry of truth to become unstable. An ingenium is created by Vuhon to stabilise it, but it fails and Baar Dau strikes Vivec city at its original momentum. Red mountain erupts due to the shockwaves, sundering Vvardenfell. The Argonians invade, a lot of Dunmer flee to Solstheim.

(Veloth is possibly the worst prophet ever. His chosen people first got cursed into Dunmer and now their promised land isnt even theirs anymore.)

I didn't include it because it likely wasn't relevant to Skyrim's plot (who knows). But you are right, Vvardenfell is practically destroyed

As for Veloth, you cannot blame him for the curse. That was the doing of the Tribunal for breaking their oath to Nerevar. And Azura knew that troubled times lie ahead for the Dunmer. Who do you think led the Dunmer to Solstheim? Likely us, the Nerevarine, being the champion of Azura and sworn to protect Morrowind.

The Nerevarine wasnt around anymore by then. He had dissapeared, rumored to have set sail for Akavir.
And Azura does not care for the Dunmer. She cares about her own petty schemes and revenge.
She warned no-one of the impending doom, her revenge was complete with the distruction of the Tribunal.
