Being able to carry LESS

Post » Tue Jan 11, 2011 10:25 am

What I'm actually specifically looking for is a mod that adds weight to every armor and weapon piece in the game, that I do not have equiped. Adding something like double the weight of the fur cuirass I have stuffed in my invisible bag, while leaving the leather cuirass I have on me with nornmal weight. This is so I cannot loot 100 fur cuirasses, or 50 swords. I specifically only want the weapons and armors to wieght more though, arrows counting as a weapon.

Any mod out there that does this?

Yes :)

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22193 does exactly that, and you set in the ini file how much more the loot weights, with default double weight (exactly as you suggested).

You might also want to look at Realistic Fatigue. This mod links weight carried to fatigue drain, so while it doesn't prevent you encumbering yourself it builds in natural penalties which increase as you load up on loot. I find the mod has profound (and welcome) effects on my gameplay, it has a permanent place in my load order.

Yes of course. Realistic Fatigue is one of the mods I couldn't imagine playing without. It is also recommended in Encumbering loot armour and weapons's readme btw.

Realistic Fatigue will do what you want. It has two encumbrance settings that will help you.

1) Alters carrying capacity. You can set this to be X*Strength+Y=Capacity, where X is a value you determine and Y is the base strength in the INI. You can set this to low values if you wish to. This creates a linear capacity behavior. I believe you can change the formula into a power function, or whatever, to get diminishing returns.

2) Alters the effect of weight on fatigue, you can set this so that the more weight you hold the more your fatigue is drained. You can set the slope for the increasing fatigue drain.
