Europe had forcefields which would shield a certain area from any foreign object. But a number of these forcefields were handed to a number of villages and towns across Europe. The only urban centers to use such are Manchester (UK), Copenhagen (Denmark), Strasbourg (France), Lisbon (Portugal), and the EU capital of Brussels (Flanders). The EU promised to shield all of Europe with the forcefields for fears of an upcoming nuclear war but had something notoriously hidden. The EU's main priority were the cities of Strasbourg which housed the Council of Europe and Brussels where the European Parliament stays. The villages and towns selected were either to appease citizens or for vile experimentation. However, only a number of EU cities were selected since the EU broke up after the oil depleted in the Mid-East. Nuclear war raged and outside the forcefields is a nuclear winter. Anyone outside cannot find the hidden towns.
Part 1:
In the year 2080, a certain villager in western France was told by the mayor that an outside world exists beyond the impenetrable mountain wall which is actually the forcefield. The mayor deactivates a part of the field for the Villager to explore the outside world in order to seek help. He ventures through the desolate France and is shocked to see mankind living outside the forcefields, trying to rebuild civilization with little technology. Picturesque Europe has become populated with shanty towns and the like. Also, a certain mutant breed coming from one experimented town is on the loose to make all people in Europe become mutated. The Lone Villager meets other kinds of people such as European Confederacy which is a break away faction from the European Union that would like to help Europeans rebuild civilization the same way it should have without a one European state and also ventures into the cities such as Cherbourg. He eventually after destroying the source of the mutants returns back to his village where he is congratulated.
Part 2:
But the Villager isn't pleased. He thinks that in order for humanity to survive, it must expand. He leaves his beloved village with a handful of people and eventually stop near what was once Flanders. Here he founds a village named Le Maison and raises a family but leaves eventually after his son's son has been born. Le Maison suffers from a widespread famine. The Villager's grandson is taked to return to the Villager's village to obtain some technology there for Le Maison to survive. He ventures back west but finds out that everyone in his ancestral village was taken by the European Union and that the only people here are European deathclaws and a handful of refugees. He gets back to Le Maison with the technology but is surprised that the European Union has also taken all the villagers. He then ventures East and comes across cities like Paris wherein half of the city had survived the war with the Eiffel Tower still standing; Antwerp wherein a small part of the city was obliterated and political parties such as the Socialist Party & the Vlaams Belang have revived & are now on a struggle (depending on the grandson's actions, one party will be the ruling party); Amsterdam wherein the city has fallen into anarchy and prostitution & crime are rampant; and eventually the EU capital of Brussels. The forcefield blocks the interior from being visible, showing an obliterated city, but the inside reveals a perfect haven in the European wasteland. The Grandson must free his fellow villagers and the villagers of his grandfather. Depending on his actions, he can destroy the whole city of Brussels, destroy the Berlaymont (the Euro Parliament), incite a rebellion amongst the unaware citizens, or topple the EU and leave the citizens leaderless, making them seek help from the ruling party in Antwerp.
