List if Interplay properties and potential projects?

Post » Thu Dec 02, 2010 8:51 am

Welcome back gamesas! You've been missed!

I am interested in whether there is a listing of the game properties that gamesas may own, as well as any publishing partners that may be called upon for new projects.

I am particularly interested in:

Stonekeep (gamesas)
Dungeon Master (FTL/gamesas)
Whiplash (Gremlin/gamesas)
Carmageddon (SCI/gamesas)

Of that list, I don't think they own Carmageddon and Dungeon Master. As for Whiplash, a completely unrelated game was published under that name by Eidos in 2003, so even if they own the old game, they might not own the name anymore.

I'm pretty sure they do own Stonekeep.

The list includes Jagged Alliance - doesn't Strategy First have the rights to the series now? The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout IRC Channel * Fallout: New Vegas

My copies of Whiplash are definitely published by gamesas. "Whiplash" is the US version of the Gremlin International title "Fatal Racing".

I'm sick of third person, point and click, and errand running RPGs. My vote goes for an old school first person action dungeon crawl like Stonekeep.

If gamesas still owns Stonekeep, has anyone discussed resurrecting Stonekeep 2: Godmaker? After five years of development, I wonder how close it got to completion... Darn it, now I have to go play Stonekeep again ;)

I own at least 30 of the titles listed there, but also a lot more with the gamesas name. These must have been "published by" gamesas?

The list linked to by Chris does not include Lionheart, which is probably owned by gamesas too, given that it's being sold at GOG.com under IPLY's name.

I actually wouldn't mind a sequel to Lionheart. Yes, I know, the game turned out to be pretty awful, but the setting and the use of SPECIAL had quite an untapped potential. I'd like to see the pretty cool setting done justice by a better game. The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout IRC Channel * Fallout: New Vegas

gamesas developed and published many titles. The giant list has games we developed & published, and games that we just published (after acquiring the rights). The giant list represents all IPs that we currently own.

If you have an gamesas box that is not listed on that big list of games, it probably means that gamesas has sold that IP to another company. It's possible there are some errors on the list (either games that aren't listed that should be or games that are listed that shouldn't be), but the list has been reviewed several times. We'll fix any errors as soon as we become aware of them (like Lionheart, which I'll inquire about.)

Okay, well if the http://gamesas.com/support/index.php link is to the "giant list", and these are the properties gamesas owns, here are would be my first picks for sequels if I were ruler of the universe.

Die by the Sword
Giants: Citizen Kabuto
Stonekeep
Whiplash

In any case, I'll be watching closely for news and developments. To me, the name gamesas on the box meant a great game was inside.

Glad you're back!

PS - I know gamesas was around for a while, but I'm fairly sure this date is a typo ;)

My choice would be:

Freespace
Die by the Sword
Jagged Alliance

And a totally new project, possibly an RTS or FPS Image

I'm pretty sure gamesas owns only distribution rights to the 2 Jagged Alliance titles listed, and not to the franchise itself, which is now owned by Strategy First. The Vault - Fallout Wiki * Fallout Online * Fallout IRC Channel * Fallout: New Vegas

Possibly...

nevertheless, they should develop and acquire new game scenarios, ideas, so that at any time they have at least two or three different games that they can start work on. I'd guess that they also should concentrate on 2-3 genres at the beginning, but I'm sure they already did ;) Image

Here's my question - does gamesas have rights for Fallout remake or something like that? We just need able to play it in higher resolution :)

1. No, unfortunetely, they can't create any new content for the game, no patches, no upgrades, no expansions.

2. There are fanmade modifications which change the screen resolution in both Fallout and Fallout 2. Try searching on the major Fallout websites, or wait few minutes till I'll edit this post

Fallout2 High Resolution Patch 1.7
Fallout1 High Resolution Patch 1.2

or higher, don't know wherher those are the latest Image
