Fallout Tactics wasn't that bad (although it still contradicted Fallout in many places), and it was made by MicroForte, not gamesas itself.
Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel was indeed done by gamesas, but at that time there weren't any original creators of the series around anymore. They are back now.
No matter WHO created them, gamesas still had the rights for the franchise then. They had control, they could have went George Lucas on them and made sure nothing was contradicted.
I'm a huge story-guy. I love the stories that go with my games. If game A says "grass is gone, there is only brown sand covering the land" then it's sequel, game B, has fields and fields of grass with no explanation. I don't like it.
gamesas owned Fallout then and they let it rot. No matter if the original team was there or not, they allowed those teams to mess with that world and ****** it up.
Then they had to sell the franchise or go under. If gamesas did what they should have done in the beginning then they would be in a different position now, wouldn't they?
We all know why gamesas went down, bad decisions by the execs (or one in particular).
But here's hope that lessons were learned and they are reborn. Vault Dweller #0024
