Question about projectv13

Post » Wed Dec 01, 2010 7:38 pm

I was looking around for a post that was asking direct questions about the game but only found suggestion/idea posts and was wondering if we are allowed to ask direct questions about the game this early

You can ask whatever you want (within the foum rules).

However, I wouldn't expect an answer this soon. It's still possible though. However, I'd limit questions with such broad answers such as "How are you planning to make this mmog different from everything else available?" and the like. A massive thank you to EA for:
- Producing great quality games time and time again
- Providing excellent technical support
- Never destroying any highly acclaimed studios for profit
- Never ripping people off
- Never wasting people's time

yes i understand that and i don't ever expect anyone to answer them really id be happy with a simple yes or no even and could give the questions in that format or multi choice if they like that one

on side quests how are we going to know where to get them and also will you be able to do them over and over again and grind

have you decided if there will be vehicles

I think it's safe to say that we will have a variety of quests.

have you decided if there will be vehicles

A decision regarding vehicles has been made.

How do you feel about sand in this game?

Have you made a decision on pants? Is it safe to say we could have own more than one pair?

Have you made a decision regarding guns?

Are you answering only questions about baseball? What about hair?

It's quite nice. The silica modeling is amazing.

Have you made a decision on pants? Is it safe to say we could have own more than one pair?

I can't commit to that, but tentatively, maybe.

Have you made a decision regarding guns?

I'm fairly certain they won't me put in as many guns as I would like.

Are you answering only questions about baseball? What about hair?

I'm only answering Little League questions at the moment. Hair was a good musical.

All right So here-we-go:

- Engine; it will be brand new but - will it be "new" for gamesas but external(buyed) or will it be hand-crafted ol' style gamesas-made?

- Engine; dynamic or static lightning? per-pixel shadows etc?

- SPECIAL; If Project V13 is Fallout MMO, it would be using SPECIAL, right?

I'll be back.

That's up to the hardware manufacturers as much as gamesas. Epic Games tried to get keyboard and mouse support for the Xbox 360 for Unreal Tournament, but Microsoft refused them. Guess it would've disrupted the oh-so-gentle balance of control on Halo 3. Or CoD4. Or Gears. Whatever. A massive thank you to EA for:

- Never destroying any highly acclaimed studios for profit
- Never ripping people off

Do you really care about such details if the project is veeery early in production (pre-production in fact, I think) stage?!?

But nonethless I'll follow this topic, it'll be nice if some answers start appearing:)

Well... yes. And it isn't only a detail now, while most of games got that kind of "details". Beside that, it's only a question, nothing more. I'm interested in V13 not only because it may be the all mighty Fallout MMO. It may be also a great game with spectacular graphic ; )

Yup, I've known about that one.

Another one Chris: Even if this game is at it's early stages I'm fairly confident that you can answer this very important question.

Will this game use isometric view ? :?: :?: :?:

That is quite obvious.

First person MMO with 20th century weapons will turn into FPS in no time

I cannot even understand what that meant...
Anyways, if you are not a developer, then I'm still waiting for Chris's answer

I beg your pardon, but that is the most dangerous of attitudes. This spirit will ensure that companies get more and more sloppy because they know that no matter what they do, the masses will buy it.

Basically this is going on right now, take a look at Fallout 3. I'm not gonna anolyse it or criticise its content, it is enough to say that with proper advertisemant Beth has succeeded in securing buyers BEFORE they could even take a look at it.

This phenomenon is called hype, and we do not want anything to do with it. We want gamesas to create a quality rpg and to ensure that, a proper critical approach is needed. Period.

Indeed the real deal(hardcoe players with mmo history) will play only a great game.Other casual people will play all the games but only for 1-2 months and then they go back to wow or warhammer or other games on the market. So the Fallout mmo will be a big madafacking hit on the mmo market in the time he will come out. I am the Formless in all forms.Strenght si the only measure ,all things can be resolved with violence and blood share.

Fallout 3 is a hit and i played it and loved it. The luster died out fast after a week unlike earlier fallouts and thats that.
A fallout mmo, no matter how terrible, will attract massive amounts of people. The world is amazing and original and refreshed by Fallout 3.
I am in no way am saying V13 will be terrible so dont get shit twisted.

However, that attitude is responsible for destroying quality games these days. If people buy regardless of quality, developers will develop lower quality products, which will be accepted by the people en masse and so on, ad infinitum.

Hence why I've cut myself off from EA games. I didn't enjoy Merceneries 2 and most other games produced by them make me want to be sick before I've played them (Red Alert 3), but that is another dangerous path I'm trying to ween myself off.
