[FORUM] Signatures don't display?

Post » Thu Dec 02, 2010 4:52 am

I have a signature, nice and simple one. I also have "Show signatures" on and I can't see it?

Hi Flamers,

We've set up sigs how they are currently in order to give a clean presence to the boards, allowing users to focus on the content presented in posts. You can still view sigs via members profiles by clicking on their name. I personally prefer to not see sigs (the beauty of being able to disable sigs completely in other forums!) in order to not be distracted by banners and other images in every post.

That being said, this site is for you guys. If there's enough support for this then we'll do our best to implement it how you guys would like it. :)

Cheers.

I quite like signatures, but as you say its my opinion but the real question is why have an option to disable them?

One more thing, why no time stamp on last post and "Mark all forums read" :P

The option [whilst overridden] is present in your UCP because that's part of PHPBB3's core functionality.

With regards to your other post, let's keep this topic just on signatures so it can be used as a place to gather support for sigs. We've still got the stickied feedback thread for other issues/ideas :)

Well, if its not too late. How do you guys insert images into signatures? Can't do that when I select and copy-paste the image from my desktop.

it still needs to be on the web.

i will explain:

I have a image, lets say this one, that i want in my signature.

Image

What i have to do is go to photobucket.com and upload my image. When that finishes i will see a code like

Code:
[URL=http://s660.photobucket.com/albums/uu327/flamers1500/Black%20Mesa/?action=view¤t=16542ba5.pbw][IMG]http://s660.photobucket.com/albums/uu327/flamers1500/Black%20Mesa/th_00016.jpg[/IMG][/URL]

This i have to copy into my signature then it will display

I will write a full guide later, if a mod could sticky it it would be great

I had ages between lectures today and nothing better to do other than write some constructive criticism :)

It's not really "spam" if it's helpful though

+1 for signatures enabled throughout the discussion board! A client decision to disable them in the CP would be very nice for those that dont like it. :)

I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but I know we have an option to put a signature under our posts, I can see it in the User Control Panel. So I did put mine in there with all the required [IMG] tags but I don't see it under my post. Infact no one has signatures under their posts. Is it just me or is this a bug in the website ?

Cheers,

I've noticed since the new change that my signature isn't appearing at the bottom of my post. This just a bug or a new new feature?

Cry admin, I think its better if you can show up signatures, But as like avatars u can always impose a pixel ratio limitation for the signature too :) Like 500 pixels width and 100 pixels height.

Also I would like to bring this video to your attention http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-behave-on-an-internet-forum which explains nicely how to behave in a forum, thus you can embed it in the forum main rules if you like so viewers might be delighted to watch that rather than read a hell lot of rules :)

well thats all from me. Please try enable signatures on the site with limited pixels to keep in order too thus it will be relaxing rather than being just like a white board at school :)

Please enable Signatures. I tried to add one today and it allows the option however it doesn't show.

If the function is not operational then it must be better to not show it rather than falsely informing us that we can use it.
