Should Leaderboard leaders get special treatment post demo?

Today my friends and I were playing the mp demo and were looking at the leader boards, impressed by the top players. Then we got to arguing if the leaders should get any special treatment for, well, being on top. Some thought the should get a free copy of the game, some thought they should get their stats carried over from the demo to the game, and some thought they didn't deserve anything at all.

And if leaders do deserve something, what leaders of what leader board? Highest experience, most kills, most wins? And would it be for the top 5, top 10, top 20, etc?

So I ask all you out there, what do you think?

Leaderboards dont deserve anything. If they are top then they must have liked what Crytek did so if anything, the leaders owe Crytek money for the game for doing a good job.

Since having 3500% accuracy is impossible, I'm pretty sure they shouldn't.

I don't even know why developers bother with leaderboards, they just get hacked/exploited.

Don't we have a Mp demo forum for such points. Besides, Leader-Boards always seem to have a glitches to expose.

Firstly, I apologize for putting this forum in the wrong category, I'll see if I can have it moved.

With that said, I personally agree that leader board leaders don't necessarily deserve anything just for being on top. However, I think that people who have so much play time and are exceptionally capable, would be beneficial to Crytek as testers or such. And giving games to the top players as a promotional tool would be a good idea (of course only for future games since the demo is already out) for increased public exposure. So in short I think people who head leader boards should get something, not because its like they won some competition, but because it would benefit the game creators.

Stats are always reset after the retail game is launched, so that an unfair advantage is not presented to anyone and its all equal footing on release date.

Besides, it is a demo, your buddies are not "testing" anything other than if they think the game is enjoyable and worth a purchase.

just being on top is good enough it makes you feel good
