That is a good question. But I doubt it. Probably the same as Crysis 1.

No, the CryENGINE 3 is actually competent as an engine. It doesn't need a GPU with PhysX support to do rudimentary things like breaking crates.

Crysis 2 will have the usual breaking and collapsing as seen in many games, but it will also contain deformable objects.

Depends on their agreement with Nvidia, I suppose?

It's possible but I doubt it. I reckon any marketing deals with nVidia will amount to a 'way it's meant to be played' sticker on the box. If the game could take advantage of DX11 then we could see some DirectCompute physics in the game but again I don't believe the game will have any DX11 features.

If the game is optimised for multicore processors then it might be beneficial for a core to be dedicated to physics and leave the GPU to concentrate on the visuals. I still feel this game could push even high end cards at HD resolutions.

Also, don't expect any information from the mod team other than - wait & see :D

No, it would be a downgrade from CryEngine 2 physics. Nvidia PhysX has crappy CPU support for physics.

Crytek is promoting their geme engine with Crysis 2, including the physics part, so definately not gonna happen

Indeed, crytek just make their own physics engines. If every card they're targeting could run physX like API (i.e. havoc on the gpu), then we'd see the far superior gpu physics being used, but as it stands not enough of their target audience can use physX (about 30% of the PC audience that'll be running this game well enough).

Yeah, there's probably not gonna be PhysX support due to its exclusivity to nVidia GPUs and bad CPU support. (It would be sweet if a company like Havok jumped onto the hardware physics bandwagon and created a DirectCompute alternative though. :D)

AMD should've just signed up with the CUDA stuff from nvidia back when it all started in 2008. I understand they wanted to use and develop their own stream SDK, just because of the potential return, but Nvidia already had a great product up and running.

I think deals have been struck all over the place with Crysis 2. It will be interesting to see what comes out.

What will come out is likely more dx11 features than we would've seen otherwise. We won't see anything nvidia exclusive like physX, otherwise we would've heard about it by now (from Nvidia).

Hasn′t It been said that that CryEngine 3 has no middleware what so ever?
I′m pretty sure Cevat Yerlí said that in an interview
