Ha nice, I was wondering what Lanius and the Forecaster meant with that as well. Could very well have something to do with Ulysses, him thinking he took you out with a shot to the head before the events of FO:NV only to find out you're still alive on Nash's list.

Tough guy, surviving two shots to the brain. I wouldn't be surprised if he would have survived being covered in pitch, set on fire and cast into the Grand Canyon.

Or something to that effect.

Why would Ulysses do that though. I doubt he worked with Benny as he had no interest in the chip and he could of easily taken the job and given the chip to Benny. Which in hindsight might of let him succeed. Unless Ulysses wanted Benny to kill him. But he doesn't seem like the type to let someone else kill the courier. Why else would he go through places like the Big Empty searching for the Courier. Of coarse he also let the courier take the job, in which case he could of intercepted him. But again I doubt he partnered with Benny to kill him. Afterall, apparently both Couriers each carry a message for eachother. (edit(But Nash mentioned Ulysses seemed to think the Mojave would sort you out so it's questionable. Some of these could be accidently left in place when Ulysses was still in the game though))

Hah. Us starting off being the "Burned Man" would of been very interesting. Anyways one thing to note is the courier came from the south and was headed for Vegas. So Ulysses knew Nash before it seems and with his ranch being also near Nipton it's interesting. So the Courier who came from the NCR/California as Sawyer mentioned either got the package at Primm or before and passed through or was near Goodsprings before encountering Benny. Question being as its stated your character isn't neccesarily without his memory unless you pretend he is, why is it that Nash seems to not know/recognize the Courier nor the people at Mojave Outpost?

In one of the Dev Diaries, it's stated by Mr. Sawyer that they 'wanted a very Vegasy opening, where your character is shot twice in the head and left in a shallow grave for dead.'

Yes correct, I just realized that when starting a new game. Doc Mitchell also mentioned "bullets" plural.

A very simple reason why the cutscene only shows Benny firing once, is the Courier blacking out after the first bullet.

A little random but Ulysses better be black and have the same hair as in the caravan card deck.
I loved Vulpes original design and while I love his current one as well I thought the original one was far more suitable.

Im not sure Benny only shot the courier once, If you have high luck doc mitchell say's something like "Im suprised the bullets just didn't turn around with your luck" :sadvaultboy:

Maybe he was shot twice at the same evening, but by other persons. I'm sorry if it all sounds far-fetched but it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me that Benny would shoot you again. The ''two-to-one'' from the Forecaster may also refer to two persons who both did something to the Courier that evening.

He is shot twice said by devs before and in the game. If he was shot once it'd be lights out before the next one hit anyways.

I disagree with omega549 sense in the DLC talking to Elijah the Courier says that he/she -NEVER- heard of that place before, yes i do remember talking to Legat about beign shot twice from what i think i bet that the Ulysses & the Courier where friends(male) or Lovers(female) (or given with that perk lover) anyways maybe the Courier did something for him to shoot(?) or hurt him/her sense the Courier "had a big such a impact on ones life". also i think Ulysses was there for a reason such as looking for something...im not sure but we'll see when we finally know whats goin on...i really hope that they put out a comic about the Courier's past like they did for the start of Fallout:New Vegas -All Roads- (just hope the Courier is a girl canon that'll be badass cuz it's always a guy)

OR, the Courier could be a android who escaped the commonwealth... maybe thats how he/she survived being shot point-blank to the head.... About Ulysses and the Courier, I think they could have been old friends or old rivalries and are hunting each other. Or at least Ulysses is hunting the Courier, and the Courier might be trying to forget about something that happend. Although in DM Dog/God said they each bore a message for the other, weither that may be a bullet to the head or something else, I dont know. We'll all found out in the future DLC's.

MAYBE the courier has like freakishly good luck like 8/10? i mean being shot in the face twice and living thats pretty lucky.
