Thoughts on DLC and next BRINK title

Post » Mon Aug 10, 2009 11:33 am

Ill try to make this as easy to fallow as i can

Character customizations:
1. i want to be able to change my gloves (including to barehands)
2. i want to change my shoes separately (including to barefoot)
3. i want sliding gear like different types of knee/elbow pads (different styles & meterials.)
4. more abilities (for all classes)
5. much higher level cap
6. Female archetypes

Levels:
1. levels where you have to jetski and shoot enemies at the same time or have a buddy on back shooting while you concentrate on driving to an inlet or island
2. bigger maps for more running and tactical maneuvers (exploring and flanking)
3. more open maps to give the player the feeling of complete freedom maybe a big garden or a park with trees and flowers for you color enthusiasts lol.

Gameplay:
1. go back to the old look (where your enemy doesnt mysteriously glow red and your ally's blue)
2. if # 1 is in effect then add to Op class multi-enemy marking
3. if # 1 is in effect then improve Op ability "Comm Hack" by making it, when it is used, that all enemies will glow red (as you see them now not as you see them when they are marked "Red Outline")
4. enemies transporting objective items should drop item if knocked down
5. Objective Outlined enemies should only be outlined if Marked but if marked will remain visible until dead or objective item dropped by knockdown
6. Outlines should be thinner then what they are now
7. add ladders and climbable fences to some levels (so its not all ramps and stairs and climbing on and over boxes)

Game Modes:
1. add a section called "Boot Camp" where it has just one factions training-grounds with multiplayer parkour race courses (no guns just running, climbing, sliding, & jumping), CTF matches, deathmatch rounds, and team death match as well... (maybe something like territories and collection too) maybe use boot camp to earn points to unlock or rather buy new things
2. add a level forger as to set up custom parkour races, CTF, DM, TDM, etc.
3. add a section called "Warzone" where you go faction vs faction in TDM CTF collection and territory... and maybe parkour racing (but with guns for warzone selection)

if this stuff was added i think Brink would be the best FPS in the end and will have replay value greater then warhawk
oh and during the parkour races it should give you the choice to go 3rd person by pushing a button...

Thoughts on Brinks Next Title:
i think it should be something like Fallout3 as in its free roam, open world feel. you should have the chance to help people (yes like MMORPG quest givers lol) in your living area like container city and etc if youre resistance and the founders tower, terminal and etc. if youre security (quests should vary from delivering items to just running around the area and even killing enemies and spies etc.) also if you fall from something to high you should die so in turn add tall structures to climb for quests (yes like the Assassins Creed's)
so for the next BRINK i want something a lot like fallout3 mixed with AC2 that has MMO qualities otherwords throw some WoW in there too (like Questing and WoW uncontested area concept, contested areas are well guarded) and it should definitely have brinks original game play, original game style and online/offline play as well
hopefully this topic gets some dev views lol
itd be cool to help with the next brain storm on the next Brink

Even though I'm pretty certain Bethesda would do the RPG elements well, it wouldn't be the same Brink. Maybe if the boot-camp idea was used as a kind of lobby system, similar to (and there are probably better examples) Bioshock 2's, where you customise in one area of your 'apartment', sort load-outs in another etc. More varied gameplay wouldn't be unwelcomed. With regards to a sequel (I know its early days and I hate myself for saying it) does anyone know of anything? There's the achievement you get 'The Story has just Begun' or something to that effect; any speculations?

Some good ideas and some im not sure about. But basically a whole new game would have to be made to incorporate all of those ideas, maybe brink 2 can use some of them.

CTF, new maps, new weapons. That's all I want. That's all I need. More places for Lights to get to, and more weapons for Heavies to carry.
