Sandbox genre is dying...

As for who don't know what sandobx mean is a game usually full loot ,full pvp and no safe zones ,with no particular story and player are free to make the lore/story.As for an old hardcoe mmorpg gamer i played darkfall and a little of mortal online and eve online too. Also to not ahve an auction house or mail to be more "reality" some how ruin all the fun sadly ..I can say this genre is dying slowly but sure and only a bunch of hardcoe old players are enjoy alitle becouse they pk/gank/griefing all the time and because full loot.As for me the most bad thing in these games is full loot and a game with full loot in my view is not a real rpg.Anyway i really want to have some sandbox enclosure in Fallout mmo ..but i hope the game wont be a legit sandbox.. Sandbox doesn't have to mean full loot and those stuff, you can still do some restriction. Eve for example have both safe and no safe zones and yes if your ship blows up it really does blows up, but if you have insurance on it you will get lots of money back + the clone if your character dies, so you can still do sandbox with a lot of restriction to make it fun.

Lets say that if you die in Fallout you would have x% of dropping loot in your inventory, it svcks if you die, but you may keep some stuff... its a real kick in the balls to loose everything -.-' even if its realistic it's not fun.

Areas around some towns can be safer than others, like if someone kills you unprovokely near a town he will drop status and the guards will dislike him a bit more.. and more until the pker gets totally banned from the town :/ And if you wish to haul many things to another town, then get some protection :D

But I understand what you are saying :/ A full sandbox game ain't so extremely funny due to that there are some assholes out there that are good at ruining it for others, hence failsafes needs to be created, it may ruin a bit of the sandbox BUT the game will turn out to be more fun to play :P Image

Indeed Eve online is a really good hybrid sandbox but it got a very different concept anyway. And yes i want in fallout online to have lik 20-30 % sanbox ,like if you dont save your items to lose them and more than 6- % of the whole map to be ffa... Image

A Sandbox MMO is a MMO that does not have much in the ways of predefined objectives. You are in a game world with a minimum predefined structure and setting and from there you choose your own role and create your own fun. The adventure is only limited by the player and what they can imagine.

Examples of Sandbox MMOs: Roma Victor, Ultima Online, SWG Pre CU and a few others. Not many out there due to the need for players to create their own fun and adventures. I am a huge fan of sand box MMOs. >:+)
