Fallout 2 Setup crashes on start

Post » Tue Mar 31, 2009 7:14 pm

Hi,
I wanted to play Fallout 2, but when I started the setup, it crashes.
I have a Medion laptop. Intel Centrino with Windows Vista (Ultimate)
But I heard from friends that Fallout 2 works on Vista...
Is there a solution?

Thanks!

I've personally installed it on Vista without a problem, but I've heard that some people have had crashes. You might try the compatibility feature of Vista, it works wonders for older applications.

Right-click the installer icon and select properties. Select compatibility and set it for Win95/98.

If that doesn't work, try the instructions at this link to do a manual installation:

Good luck!

Odd. I just checked the link and it worked fine.

You can do a search for "How to install Fallout 1/2 under Win2000/NT/XP" and it should get you to the right page.

Good luck!
