Eve Online

So, does anyone play this game by any chance? Been playing it a while back and have found it to be pretty a pretty good and funny game, and there's not much grinding involved at all really once you get started :)

To add some entertainment in as well, I present to you the learning curve of the game compared to the others =P

I would be interested but I would need to wait until late Oct or Nov.

My best friend plays Eve alot. It looks neat and cool and such.

I use to play Mankind and Eve looks much better than that game.

Eve is is quite unique in that it worlds apart from the other MMORPG's out there (to my knowledge)

I would have agreed with your learning curve a few years back, however CCP has put
considerable effort into making the new player experience a more enjoyable one.
When i first Begin, there was little to no tutorials on basic aspects of the game. Not
to mention all the technical faults and the like.
Alot of the newer players struggle to get a handle on the sentiment of "well if his been playing for 6 years, there is absolutely no way that i can compete with him!" Well your technically right, your SP will never
match his. Consider the scope of the game, to max out your character with max statistics and lvl 5 skills it would take around 11 - 12 years. And then consider that in 2 days you can get a frigate class ship
that if flying with a fleet can be used to tackle (stop said ship from running away) which is a very important
aspect of PVP. The things which take days, weeks, months to train for are the exocitic things which dont directly affect game play (in most cases)

One last thing that is important to new players, in Eve there is no morality, think of EVE as a psychological sandbox. If someone claims he has a free gift for you, then most likely or not he is trying to trick you into stealing so he can get a easy kill.
There are specific tactics involved with annoying new players. Eve pvp is not like WOW, be aware that a friend might be a foe and a foe is really a foe.

PM me if you would like a 21 day trial

The 21 day trial is also available by Steam for those interested.

I tried the trial, but I didn't really like it. I've played quite a few MMOs and I just felt it required too much effort and all it seemed like I was doing was just flying around space aimlessly >_>

Just my opinion though, and I would still suggest people try it as a lot of my friends seem to enjoy it plus it seems CCP put a lot of effort into it. War... War Never Changes...

EVE is not for everyone. It is by far the best MMO on the market though and I would recommend it to anyone that's not too young. The game's design is intelligent, complex and mature (in an actual sense of the word) so yeah, give it a try but be aware that you won't be getting much out of a trial.
