The Press Release from April 4, 2009:
gamesas announced today that the company has signed a binding letter of intent with Masthead Studios to fund the development of a Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG), code named "Project: V13".

It took a while from going from a "Binding Letter of Intent" to a full fledged "Definitive Agreement".

Will there be lawyers in the wasteland too?

This is great news. Keep up the good work guys. We're behind you 100%! By Gamers for Gamers! I have every bit of confidence in Masthead as well, I've been following Earthrise on their boards for some time. Looking forward to an official site for the MMO, along with some new screens/info regarding the general design!

My first request: A fully animated emote for /sipnuka which depicts a character tipping back a nice warm bottle of the 'blue stuff' and then pocketing the change!!! (naturally, i wouldn't actually gain 1 cap from such an emote, but it would be cool to pretend! ;)

Vaultfully yours,

It could more be with them trying to get a time line in for development since they are currently working on Earthrise (which I'm patiently waiting for as well) which is supposed to release Q2 2010. So with no real rush on them starting to put their full effort into the game, as well as the legal battle which was just taken care of last month I believe, The time frame is fine.

Now I believe Bethesda is attempting to appeal the Judge's ruling, but here's hoping it fails as well. Image

Looking at things outside the box, V13 will almost surely be of unoriginal design and unready for release but get launched anyways, like age of conan did(flopped). The game will not recieve the patching and repairs it needs and will likely be a project that gets gamesas revenue and maybe even a little fame. You need a large staff to handle an mmo and customer service. This game is going to be a reminder of why mmo's should be left to the pros.

Any release date will be too soon. gamesas doesnt have the staff to support maintenance, patching, customer service. Bigger MMO companies than gamesas go months without a crucial patch or fix. How long do you think it will take to fix the massive amounts of broken features for V13? I can answer that for you- longer than anyone is willing to wait.

Wait a second, 2012! OH MY GOD!!

Here's hoping for a Beatles-themed quest on V13.
