Finally! A reason to purchase a WiiWare title! I would imagine that this would be just as easy to port to the DS, as well.

It's very exciting to hear about a new Descent release!
I'll probably buy a used Wii for it .

And I think it will be Descent 1 not 3.

But this is not the "D4 for PC announcement" I'm still waiting for . :cry:

Descent is already available on PC, I think this is just a straight up port with a few modifications done to it.

Qustion:

Will I be able to physicaly buy the game instead of downloading it on WiiWare?

The reason is bc I don't own a wii, and my friends that do own it are not signed up to wiiware (and are not planning to) Absolute Velocity svcks. It’s too slow.

Well If it is a straight up port of D1 then that's how the graphics will look like. Although I wish they get rid of them very pixely looking green fonts and replace them with better (cleaner) fonts. (I know this goes away from the arcade feel of the game) Absolute Velocity svcks. It’s too slow.

Haven't tried it yet but being the owner of a Wii I just can seem to wrap my head around the wands of the Wii being a good solution for controlling the ship in the same manner I am used to with a keyboard/js combo.

Trichording with Wiimote? Not so much I guess.

Anyone tried this out?

this is just the 1st stage of gamesass comeback.
If you like Descent vote w/ your dollars and get the Wii version.

It can only help the odds of a Descent 4 coming out for PC.

if the descent for the wii is a success then gamesas will be more inclined to put money into a new descent.
I would think that project V13 (fallout online aka FOOL) would have to get out 1st if gamesas is going to do it in house or they would license the rights out to another company and do profit sharing.
