What mmo games you play right now and why??

What mmorpg game you play right now ,what make you play your curent mmo game and what class/lvl/ you got.

My ex mmorpg ive played are :Anarchy online,Wow,Project entrophia,Star war galaxies,Neocron 2,Lord of the rings,Eve online,Age of Conan, and some korean shit mmo..and of course Warhammer online that i play atm.

I play warhammer online atm and got a chosen(tank) rank 40/renown rank44(pvp rank). For the moment War is what i chose to play and as an veteran mmo player i realy tend to say is a good game with alot of pvp involved and classes are quite good balance in mass pvp and in 1v1.

PS:Im looking forward to play maybe in 1-2 months Darkfall mmo(with full loot sistem and ffa everywere) and in like 1 year Mortal online with the same features as Darkfall. Image

I am the Formless in all forms.Strenght si the only measure ,all things can be resolved with violence and blood share.

i played warhammer but stopped about 2 months ago. Im tired of swords&sorcery themes and though my whole guild agrees that warhammer looks and feels like warcraft- the pvp and world domination is its core attractor. i give it a 7 out of 10.
Im looking for something with a different theme.Something apocalyptic.

Currently playing Age of Conan. Simply for the mature theme of the game and indepth combat system which requires you to take a more involed role instead of waiting for the result and watching the graphics on screen (like WoW and WAR).

Just stopped playing World of Warcraft (and may return in December), after seeing 70-80 being trivial and PvE raid content being even easier (after being cleared by NovemberTwentyFifth in 72(?) hours). Its more of the same so for now I'm done with MMOs.

Don't really think traditional leveling works anymore, I really loved SWG's "level" system. Image

Final Fantasy XI. ^^ I bounce around on what jobs I play but the one I like most is and always will be SAM. I have ADD pretty bad so even though I've been playing for 4-5 years Ive only got 46 SAM. Now for the reason why I like FFXI. I like people I dont have to deal with being bossed around by a 12 year old noob. To get anywhere in that game you need friends and you have to deal with other people. Its truly an MMO because your playing with other players and not by your self for hours on end. Image

My first post here i guess, so hi all :)

Back on the road, i played WOW yearstoday after more then one years break and it was as boring as always... That game represents way to simple game mechanics for my taste, making the control over your character limited. Quests are just like work, the only diffrence is that it acually is your free time aswell as you dont get paid, you pay! And yes, the ultimate MMORPG problem where you kill the same "boss" NPC over and over again and he keeps returning to life and all that in perfect form of 0% consequence (or in other word: interactivity between the world and the player).

The only way (exept creating new content every week, which would be a hard work, maybe impossible in todays resources) would be to create a online world with a only real player system leaving NPC idea simply behind. The world would need to be built allowing player a lot freedom aswell as making the world based on simillar rules our world is. Like having one player wanting to create somthing then forcing him to use other players help in achiving resources like lumber, and that would create a whole process (from one "creating" lumber to the one transporting in, and also side "links" like caravan raid which on its own creates another "links" and so on) just like in real world, one thing starts another and the wheel spins, the hard matter is to balance the system out with a lot of wise thinking mainly in the core of the world created. However, assuming (only assuming) that this project is important in terms of gamesas finacial "crisis", i guess you are going for more allready proved game systems. I just hope, even if it is simillar to wow in any way that it still is not, if you get what i mean.

I would like to ask a dev (Chris?) a question aswell:
Have you been following interaction between fallout 3 development team and fans? meaning have you been checking their boards and/or following fallout 3 development progress? (no follow up questions on this one i promise) The Sarmatians

I've tried em all, but the only one that continues to svck me back in with any consistency is EverQuest. Yup, the original. Everything since has just been cotton candy, IMO - tastes great for a short time, but there's just no substance and a lot of it just makes me sick. :P

Not really, I have hard enough time keeping up with my design work and following everything here. ^_^ I do read NMA and DAC as often as possible.

Your not missing much. The majority of fans on boards love the game and it sold a record volume a while back.
Ive been on the Beth Bords since day 1 and most of the topics now are about DLC and Kits... At least the ones that arent repetitive. *The biggest complaints are the ending and lack of real alternating endings or at least an ending with some substance.* The inability to continue playing after you finished the game, which can be remedied by lastsavespot, but its just one of those things that players want.*The shortage of content and/or large map with not enough content to make exploring a rewarding experience.

The Dev has been slow on DL content and modding so i think people are getting pretty pissed about that since thats what gamers love most about Beth Games....the ability to change a game completely. Most players do love it but i have notice that alot of people that come do FO3's defense are casual players or at least....thats what they consider themselves.

Funny that; as soon as you remove the ability to create mods from a Bethesda game people get annoyed. Dare I say that perhaps the fans can actually build better worlds then the developers? Or, the more likely scenario, fans know what they want and as such are allowed to build it? A massive thank you to EA for:
- Producing great quality games time and time again
- Providing excellent technical support
- Never destroying any highly acclaimed studios for profit
- Never ripping people off
- Never wasting people's time

Well I've done the rounds in the last few months! Played the 4 big fantasy online games. Here's what I think.

Lord of the Rings Online: I like the Lord of the Rings universe. It's the best game if you want a good community and something to immerse yourself in. Trouble was I like PvP and the Ettenmoors just didn't feel right for me. The PvE side was pretty good though.

Age of Conan: For all the talk of their combat system before the game came out, I wasn't too impressed with it. The abilities all felt the same and their 'combo' system wasn't really good. Directional shields were a good idea but I was wondering why I would choose to adjust my own shields at all. Anyone?

Warhammer Online: Got this and tried the free month. It has some good points (like open parties, awesome idea!) but I found the main draw (RvR) just didn't happen as I was hoping. Public Quests are deserted too. Encouraging is the fact Mythic is taking big steps to improve RvR. I'll be keeping an eye on this one.

World of Warcraft - Played this for about a year and a half then stopped early this February. I thought I'd give it a quick go before deciding if I would buy the expansion. Weell... it's still ok but I keep getting annoyed at the little things (like ghost running for example). I find myself missing the PvP of Warhammer. Just the lack of 1 and 2 shotting. The community is pretty bad too. Lost count of how many groups I've been in where if we die just ONCE half the team leaves or there's some idiot kid who tells us he has to go to bed halfway through the dungeon. And there always the elitist nerd in the group who can't comprehend people making a mistake. Onto the plus side, the combat is probably my favourite of the 4 games with War as close 2nd. I like the universe and style, story, characters, etc, so I'll try it for a bit longer.

The one I'm looking forward to is Star Wars the Old Republic. That sounds promising.

Good work if you read all that :D Do any of you know the tale of how cornmeal came to be?
Neither did the miller when he left his house that morning!

I have pretty much played them all, however WoW is the one with the largest population, so I am sticking to it. SWG was good before it was ruined, and everquest 2 never really lifted off... most of the old everquest 1 players have migrated to wow. I am looking forward to the Kotor mmo and V13 =)

Well I'm back to WoW. Why well it's not becuase I think it's a good game for me. I really don't like it, but I have fun playing games with my wife and my wife likes to play WoW. She doesn't like WoW as much as she likes to keep in touch with WoW friends. Personally I would rather play Age of Conan.

I started with Ultima Online and was there for over 2 Years.
Then i joined Everquest for a half year.
After EQ i started Dark Age of Camelot. It was my home for nearly 2 Years.
After this i went back to Daoc for a while.
Then i started with Neocron für a year.
After Neocron i started with Everquest 2 and i stayed there for nearly 2 years.

I tryed also Lord of the Rings Online, WOW and Lineage 2 for 2 Months each.
I tryed Age Of Conan for 4 Months and War now for 2 Months.
Then i went back to Lord of The Rings last Month, but i canceled it too now.

I play no mmo today, i dont know, i want a new mmo, with a good graphik like in AOC, but i want none of the new ones, that exist.

If i would build my own MMO it would be like that:

Its always difficult to describe the own wishes for a mmo, and its more difficult in english, when its not youre home language ;) so there will be mistakes in grama or something, be warned^^

The World
The World of Shadowrun would be my favourit.
With magic and technology, a hard and corrupt life.
I really love that fantasy world.

The Fighting-system
No 3d Shooting Action like in Neocron.
It should be a third person combat system, like in Baldurs Gate, with a beautiful realistic graphik, like in AOC. The Fighting with guns should be very simple. You push attack, and the gun is fireing, in his mode of speed.
A skill like Accuracy, a skill with the type of weapons (light guns, heavy guns a.s.o.) and maybe a skill that is based on the type (pistols, light machine guns a.s.o.) are responsable for hitting an enemy or not.
And of course there are defensice skills to, that protect you for hits.
The Character should always be in automatic movement in combat (trys to evade, roll to the side, goes in kneecover or lying down, a.s.o)
So... and now is the question, what am i doing while my character is fighting?
Good question, there must be different abiltys like in every mmo that you are clicking. But not only special attack things or mage things, no i want things to evade, to find a good cover a.s.o. I dont want to stay in a fight, click and waith what happened and click again. I want to make really visible things, that i have to make a different combo for a better accuracy or something. AoC shows how fighting is not boring, but i miss stuff to evade and i want that stuff.

Skills and Abilitys
Very Important.
After so many different mmos, my favourit skillsystem is from the old Ultima Online.
You have at first a choice of 10 Main Abiltiys like Strength, Condition, Inteligence aso.
Important is, that i can choose what i want. if i want to be a dumb very strong man, then i can choose that, and also at the beginning, i will be a damn strong guy that will punch in a none weapon and armered combat also a max lvl guy that is not powered in strength. And whatever i Choose, i must live with that.
Then there Must be for exsample 50 different skills (included all fighting, mage, working and body Skills)
Every Skill is here for everyone useable. At Start you have 200 Points that you can give on whatever you want, but no skill can be more then 50 Points at beginning.
100 Points in one skill is the best you can have.
In Game you will earn Points in randomly 0,1 steps for using the skill.
If you are on 0 in a skill, and use it, you get with one upgrade 3 or 4 points on it.
If you are on 80 it need a long time to get more in it.
You can have a maximum of 1000 Points. So you could have 10 skills on 100 or you can give 20 on 50. You can always set a skill down and lock the skill, if you dont need that skill.
Maybe you are driving, but you wont be a better driver, so lock the skill driving and the points will not go higher. Or you have to much in driving, so lock it and say that the skill driving can go down to get more points in another skill.
There are also skills like more resists against physical damage and magical damage to make someone harder.
So the decission what skills are good togehter, should be interesting and make you very unique.
Im always bored in mmos, that every Tank is the same...sure the one has better equipment but, the character is the same...same skills, same strenght, aso.
On my way, everyone would be unique.

The special Abilitys are based on the skills i described on top. If you have 20 Points in a skill like weapon accuracy you will get a special shoot, that hits on garantie the enemy. Or if you have 50 Points in Evading you have a skill that you can activate, then you have to make a combo like in aoc, so you need timing, and you can evade the next 30 seconds all bullets.
And on every skill you get maybe every 10 points a new special, based on that skill.

The Trading World
Hard to describe in english for me...I mean the system in game of money and all the stuff to buy and to sell.
Ultima is here also my favourit. Cause you have to build all stuff or have to buy it from other gamers.
NPC Shops only sell stuff for beginners, but thats all.
You have to eat, you need ammo, weapons, armor and if you are a mage, you need magical talismans or you choose the way to have a lot of implantats to make you more stronger, to get better reflexes aso.

I know im away from the main titel of that thread, but i just wanted to tell all, that all the new mmos are boring for me...
If Ultima would have a better graphik, i would still play this game;)
