Fallout 2 Online!

Hello

I know You sold Fallout rights to Beth~ but as far as I know You can still make MMO using orginal Fallout. Your new project will take few years before it will be completed. Some people can't wait any longer (yes me). Nowadays there aren't any interesting games we can play thats why I came with this idea. On some russian fansite I saw Fallout 2 as MMO and guess my suprise when I saw that they were already beta testing it! Why You big gamesas won't make Fallout 2 as MMO! I know all old players and new ones will really like it :). What do You think about it? It shouldn't be so hard to write it and You would make many old players dreams come true ^^.

It gets a little tricky, but it boils down to this:

gamesas no longer has the rights to the original Fallout series _except_ to sell the original games in their original state. We can't add to or modify the originals.

We are working on a MMO called V13 (which is a codename). It will use a new graphic engine. We don't have a release date, yet.

I've seen Fallout Online. I think it's amazing what Fallout fan will do, but I don't have any official connection with what they are doing. I tried to play it a couple of times, but death is really brutal in their game. I died a bunch of times trying to run back to where I started, but random encounters kept killing my just outside of the cloning/medical facility/respawn point. Brutal.

Really neat to see players running around that world. There is something cool about having a game that is steeped in the culture of the Cold War have players speaking Russian, too. ^_^

Thank You for fast respodning :).

Idea is really great but it was really hard to start and get anything in it :P also slow travelling on map was kinda annoying. Iam from poland so I did understand somehting in russian but still it was hard to talk with other players :(. So unlucky that so great firm can't make Fallout 2 Online in 2D as old games had :(. So we must wait for V13 then. Make it bigger succes than Fallout 3 please :). One more thing please try not to bankrupt again. This firm has got really great history and games made in past. I would really like to see for example Planescape Tournament 2 where Unnamed would for example fight in his own realm :P and I would love if he could meet Ignus again and it would be possible to show him my madness :>. With such great games which are really awesome success You can match with Blizzard just make few new games and Iam sure You will be top again!

Would be fun but they would of course up how the art looks and it'd look sweet as hell. But the only problem is not marketable to the new generation. I'd love to see that too but meh people are stuck on FPS and 3 dimensional RPG's such as WoW, Guild, and others.

Good thing Fallout 1 and 2 fans have modded these games in the past without getting their balls busted :D

I have seen many such as even a mod for Tactics that literally changed the weaponry and stats to WWII standards for those classic WWII campaigns. For those who don't know that was a form of gameplay created by fans who played online with Tactics.

P.S. I know Tactics wasn't made by Black Isle (calling Vault Boy, Pipboy was the most evident of that ;) ) But it was a good game in its own. Image
I told the Overseer of Vault 13 I'd give everything to save everyone, and so I did, I saved them all. Since then I've felt loneliness.

The updated look is already a mod for Fallout 1 and 2 and is actually mentioned in my PC Gamer January 2009 issue! :D It updates the looks just enough to keep it original, just dusted off and polished to a lovely shine :D

I think Fallout if it was updated would still sell even in today's market. Sure the critics would say its utter crap because of the graphics but then again times never change do they? (Fallout's release in 97 had critics in an uproar over the Isometric view being a part of the "3D movement" of that time)

Actually too it be awesome if we could possibly get a rounded number of how many copies of the originals have sold through gamesas. Image
