What you want most in v13?

Post » Wed Apr 29, 2009 10:56 pm

Please only post the 1 thing you want most in V13, you can be specific or general.

I`m hoping for player based involvement with the towns, x-town increases or grows with players helping trade routes or even just by selling and supporting that area. Possibly being allowed to have player housing if your reputation increases high enough with that faction/town. Or at least some other major benifit.

*edit* The main reason I want to see this is because in all the Fallout's you are always helping x-town with a problem that will change the city for the good/worse. I want to see the benifits or the aftermath of a evil did against the town. Maybe have it set up where depending on your past actions is what you see when you enter x-town, such as
1. upgraded buildings
2. destroyed town "if you decided to destroy that town for another factions"
3. or even just minor changes

1. No Unrestricted Open PVP, some of us are purely PVE in preference (indeed many of us)
2. Ability to play not just Vault Dwellers, but Ghouls, Super Mutants, robots, Androids, tribals etc..
3. In Game housing of various types, bunkers, vaults, houses etc..
4. Mounts/Vehicles
5. Joinable Factions BOS, Enclave etc..
6. Modifable Weapons and Armour system
7. guilds to be more like Wasteland Communities with some functionality and purpose beyond just questing together.

My wishes are similar to what you currently find in Lord of the Rings Online (LOTRO) - of course with obvious differences.

1) Restricted PvP areas and more then one area. Unlike the LOTRO Ettenmoors and the Delving, there are more areas to PvP. However, each PvP area will have significant warnings stating that players are about to enter PvP area(s). In addition, we are allowed to play toons normally used for NPCs. For example in LOTRO PVE, you play a Free Person (People's) of Middle Earth (Freep) such as an Elf, Dwarf, Human, and Hobbit. When you play in LOTRO PVP, you can either play a Freep or a monster player (creep) which currently includes an Orc, Uruk, Spider, and Warg.

2) Lots of weapons, armor, and equipment you can choose from.

3) Crafting (engineering (mechanical, electrical, computer), robotics, medical, bioengineering, and etc.) - the best crafters can make the best weapons and equipment except for Raid Scenarios.

4) Solo, small to large group scenarios.

5) Housing that means something instead of just a place to store equipment and to be made up.

6) Vehicles, Boats, Mounts (horses or mutant fauna), Air travel will just be quick travels similar to a LOTRO hunter or warden or creep maps.

7) Different Terrain - granted a lot will be wasteland, however nature will come back and there should be some areas that were not hit due to the jet stream, the location was not a target, or nature is starting to heal.

8) Scenarios take place in many different places.

9) SPECIAL - giving everyone the ability to be different and not the same.

10) Able to play many different races such a ghouls, robots, humans, mutants, and etc.

11) If there are factions to join, make it special (meaningful) or allow groups to create factions and make it meaningful - like the faction can improve a skill my reaching a certain number of participants or class or whatever.

12) More to be listed later

I've actually just learned of the existence of Project V13. This was the first thread I saw :). Actually it addresses why I immediately came to the gamesas website when I learned of the project.

1 - First and absolutely foremost I'd like to see a very deep crafting system. I've only ever seen one MMO crafting system that was worthwhile and Sony ruined it.

2 - Absolutely NO involuntary PVP.

3 - Player housing, possibly the ability to influence the "world"

4 - A skill based system rather than level based would be a plus too.

I almost forgot, no content requiring raids!!!

1st, I want to see a world that evolves based on players actions. When the game first opens up, its a comlete and total desolate wasteland with players crawling out of the vaults to start to rebuild humanity. Make it so that over the years, the face of the world changes based off of those players actions.

2nd, Open world player housing. If i'm wandering out in the wastes and I come accross either an abandoned vault, or a building thats mostly intact, I want to be able to have some kind of sub quest where you clean it up, be able to plant booby traps or defenses(with the right skills), and live there, but also have to worry about raiders coming after my stuff. The only real safe housing should be in towns!

3rd, Player created and run towns and outposts. Whether its done as a guild thing, or just players deciding to all live in the same area, I think that we should be able to create our own little bastions of humanity that others can come to. Or say with Number 2 above, i set up residence in an abanonded building, then someone comes along and does the same in a building near by, then some come and start setting up little huts around the area. We then decide as a collective team to build a wall for protection.

4th...well if you can't tell mainly I just want a lot of player generated content. I want to be able to play a game where i'm not just another adventurer like everyone else. Found a town and be mayor..be a wasteland scavanger..thats what would be ideal to me.

This is what I want (From most wanted to least wanted)

1. A herd of brahmin
2. player owned houses
3. massive amounts of creatable items
4. A helicopter (many different vehicles) (mainly a helicopter though for very advanced players) Image

The feel of time.

this means dynamic world. for example if I kill the Gang Leader named "Jack Sparrow" I really don't want to see him wandering around in the area 2 minutes later.

1) The original fallout character development including S.P.E.C.I.A.L with all 7 stats, 2 optional traits, skills, 3 tag skills, skill points/level, and perks. I do not want cookie cutter characters. Oh you hit level 4, you get the exact same skill as every other (insert class here). NO CLASSES.

2) The world to be permanently changed by players actions. If you kill the mayor of a town, he stays dead, forever. The town would then need a new mayor.

3) Housing limited to guilds/factions. In fallout I never lived in the waste. I traveled through it, but it was never my home. Vault 13 or Arroyo were my homes. (I guess the BoS was a home, but in the same frame of mind, you joined or were part of a group of people to have a home).

4) Limited PvP. In this I'm really torn. I like the idea of having a PvP setting to turn on/off for your character, but at the same time this setting lends itself so well to open PvP because of the karma system in place(which they need to keep). And by what I mean for that is your karma would be directly affected not only by actions towards NPC's but also towards other players(but only in a negative way, i.e. you attack someone with a positive karma, people with negative karma's would have bounties on their head and no one would mind if they died).

4) b. A Karma system that would allow open PvP, but would prevent people from attacking people just to grief them. I.e. Npc interaction based off of karma, and karma drops by attacking other people (when both are NOT flagged for PvP). Thereby if people want to be evil they can, but they are actively penalized for it by being unable to interact positively with most npc's.

4) c. If there is open pvp a system needs to be set up to prevent repeated killing of the same person by the person (or people) who killed them previously unless you engage them first.

5) A really expansive crafting system that allows for people to use makeshift materials(its the wasteland) to make items.

6)
Customizable weapons and armor. No two people should have exactly the same stuff.

Will post more later. *The first time I saw a Deathclaw...well, now that's a story for a different day.*

The one thing I want, is variety. I want the quests to be different, not just, Collect this many lynx hides. Or Kill this many of this monsters.

Why can't there be raid-like quests or at least boss quests at lower levels. They don't have to have a special item when you defeat the boss, but at least make some interesting quests.

Walking quests are okay every now and again, but I stopped playing MMOs cause they felt like a job I was paying to do.

My friends who are at the level max in some different MMOs tell me about raid bosses, and what you have to do to kill them. I want to do that, but I can't get the will to do all of the boring and repetitive quests in between.

Lord of the Rings Online had a fun instance called Fornost, which you could do at level 35. You and your group would go to four different towers fighting different bosses at the top of each one. I really enjoyed that, but I couldn't keep up that will to keep playing the game around level 40, I got to level 45 a couple months before the expansion and just quit. Even the two new classes aren't enough to bring me back. I do though like the potential of the Warden class though. The level cap was 50 before the expansion, for those who didn't know.

One thing I liked about Fallout is that you gained experience but doing more that just quests and killing things.

No ganking. Here's a leap. Hide Level, class and hit point gauges with the exception of playing in groups. Force players to interact as they would in the r/w. Force players to examine the gear and nuances of those they meet in order to identify what threat level they are and the type of person that they were dealing with. Uncertainty keeps most people respectful and, with the exception of psychotics, most do not elect to throw their lives away on the precepts of chance. This "new" concept lays the ground to a brand spanking new ability; a "personal" capability that allows folks to accurately gauge targets or hopefully for the sake of lower level players inaccurately. Can anyone say the entrance of deception? - Only cowards hide behind monikers.

Hmm. I agree with more skill based than leveling. I wish less PVP, like player can put PVP on by himself when want, otherwise not on it. More clothing armor (designs?). In neutral places guards kills hostile players would be cool. No raiding places.
It is going to be different than WoW, I wish.
More crafting (I love it).

There are more probably, but that's all now I can't think of. I rather go to the Wasteland than living in this TIN CAN!

Fallout - Love it. Let's get going, Ian. Let's try that cape.
Fallout 2 - Meep Firegekkos!
Fallout 3 - Awesome!

No raid bosses?!?!?!?
I have heard some people complain about them having to find groups to kill something. They should be able to kill most anything by themselves, and we shouldnt be forced into situations where you need alot of people, raid encounters should make sence, not this scripted crap from wow, the bosses should be smart enough to not always go after a "tank" . and you should be able to have a party of humanoids with you (humanoids refering to humanlike, robots, androids, feral brahmin, w/e), but this is a MMO you shouldnt be able to kill the realy high level bosses by yourself it would be just too hard. Theres a reason this game is online its so we have to play with other people eventually. Image

Right on with the last sentence. :) Since this is MMO not single player game so you shouldn't be able to do everything solo, since this is MMO. (Hence the part MMO comes from?) So yeah there should be something which you can't do solo and you have to group up for it.

One thing we thought with my friend on phone while I talked about this game and he enjoys Fallout as well. Well we talked about these "raid" instances or group places... for example some Vault/Bunker or w/e on those lines. Like some bunker where you need to go in group of let's say 4-8 member and rush through it guns blazing like hell to get those damn mutant down for example. And theyr "Commander" in the end of bunker or so.

Like I talked on my previous posts (not sure if it was on this one or some other) if this game would work a bit like Mass Effect/Gears of War style fighting it would be damn awesome to go with group to some vault/bunker and use corners and boxes to be save and shoot behind them.

Would be nice to use objects/corners to get some cover while moving forward on those narrow corridors and so on. :)

That would be just awesome.

-Askenas

ps. Hopefully you got the idea what I was after on this one. :)

ok but seriously, what I want from the developers is simple. I want them to look at WoW and say "what can WE do differently and go above and beyond the normal standard of MMO's?" When FOOL comes out, the whole world will shout..."FALLOUT!!!"

Hi there,

I loved the fallout series and really hope that V13 will be made! :D

What I would love is that there will be a feeling of the original game.. walk through the ruins, through the wasteland, fight riders, mutants etc., explore vaults etc. - learn something about the history from the game.

I hope that the character system will be like the games, and that there are so much items like in the games. Weapons, ammo, anti - rad items, and much much more. collect, trade, get better.

The fallout history/games have much potential, and so I hope that they will make some really amazing in Project V13 :)
