Beta Questions

Post » Sun May 03, 2009 3:44 pm

Hi, I made this thread for anyone who has questions about the beta for the upcoming Fallout MMO.

My question is:
Will the Beta be age restricted (as in, anyone under X age cannot play) since it asked our DOB on the news/beta sign-up?

Yes, it will be restricted to a certain age.

When should we look for it? I've heard from The Vault that the legal standing between gamesas and Bethesda's case is still unknown..

Is this PC only? or is it on the consoles? Not just the beta but the full game.

Will the beta and game be PC only or will Macs get the gaming goodness as well? I have both but I'm curious.

Hello. In what countries it is planned to let out game, on what languages to translate? And whether there will be a version for Russia?

My question would be how gritty and apocalyptic the MMO Fallout universe will be? Will players have to eat/drink to survive? How do characters deal with radiation? Assuming the game is rated "M," will there be advlt themes, gambling, brothels, etc.?

I'm curious about operating systems as well. I'm a linux guy, so naturally I wonder if there's any chance at a linux client.

Won't be the end of the world if not (bdm-psh!). Just wondering.

How many people are going to be allowed into the beta itself? (Phase specific if possible?)
Thanks.

Will our player data be saved to something similar to steam cloud or something like what EA has? Will it be reliable?

I'm seventeen (birthday at the end of August [correct date entered into the system, too]). Will my beta-request be nullified?

is there any sort of a confirmation which gets sent to our email after we sign up for beta? I randomly lost connection while signing up and had to do it twice to make sure it went through...

when will we receive the first newsletter? and will there be any sort of confirmation for the beta application? like "thank you for registering for the beta"? =) alot of ppl are confused and unsure which is understandable since everyone's really excited and dont wanna be left out.
even tho im tempted to, i wont ask when the beta will start... but if u wanna answer that question.. feel free to do so ;] In gaming terms... Life's a die, then you bich.

Всем привет.
I'm yet another Russian Fallout fan, and I'd hate to see any language based restrictions. I don't know what my "comrades" meant, but the first thing that comes into my head when I hear "Russian version" is poor service, and trouble with getting international version ranging from purchase difficulties to IP blocks. No restrictions please... pretty please? with a shotgun on top?

I'm not sure how much you are allowed to give away at this point, but will combat (*please*) resemble the old isometric fallout games? I'm sure they won't be the same since the originals were turn based, but at least similar?
