Unarmed Prizefighting

One thing I enjoyed about the first two Fallouts was the situations that required unarmed fighting. Fighting Garl for Tandi, Boxing in New Reno, and street fighting in San Francisco. I would like to see V13 continue the tradition of unarmed fighting.

Situations would include:
Prize fighting
Beating people into submission, to either rob, interrogate, or intimidate them
Boxing
Fighting in towns (so the guards don't attack you)

Advantages to fighting unarmed:
Guards won't attack you in towns for brawling or don't respond with deadly force.
Its far more stealthy than guns
Bonus rewards to Reputation, and XP
Don't take a karma penalty when defeating an enemy with the same Karmic standing; for example if your a good guy, you can punch out another good guy without becoming evil. I mean, he's just unconscious, he'll get better.

Remember Mortal Combat, how after you defeated your oponent the words "FINISH HIM" would appear on screen; well V13 could implement options of things to do to your openent after you've beaten him senseless.

Good suggestions, but I'd recommend that it's not senseless but before your target is senseless, it's just that I find it too sadistic and evil to do something to someone that is already knocked out. Image

Here's hoping for a Beatles-themed quest on V13.

If they don't take off their shoes then it's fair game. Them's the rules. *The first time I saw a Deathclaw...well, now that's a story for a different day.*

agree, should be some game aspect where organized unarmed combat for fame, prizes, caps is present in the game. Could be organized on level, strength number, # of fights in etc. so there is some fairness to it like weight classes in RL. MMO's... MMO's never change...

why limit it to just things like boxing matches.. . Have full on Gladiatorial events.
THUNDERDOME !
In Post apoc setting entertainment would surely be bloody and dangerous. If you char gets caught by slavers has to win X # of battles to gain freedom like in ancient Rome. Or Char can voluntarily enter Gladiatorial events for caps, part of mission quest etc...
set them up so there are two or multiple teams for all out fighting, take over a base, first team to an objective guarded by enemies, traps, creatures, etc...
Have the events in Thunderdome, Gladiator purpose built pits, arenas, Coliseums etc... and announce them so spectators can watch them for the pure thrill of seeing vicious mortal combat, place bets, cheer for a champion or favorite team .
Could have a league system where small outlying pit champions can work their way up to a final Huge Coliseum Elite level where fights are on a large and spectacular scale or pit two Champions against one another for supreme bragging rights and fame.
Large spectacular scale fights could be humans in pieced together "Gladiator" power armor ( not nearly as good as Enclave, BOS armor) against capture SupMuts or DeathClaws with traps in the arena and weapons scattered around that are super powerful ( so as to inflict glorious kills to please the crowds) but only have a limited ammo , use , fuel, etc so the Gladiator who reaches the weapon will not be able to "auto win" and will have to carefully aim, plan, implement the weapon for maximum effect.
Allow Guilds to set up "Gladiator schools" to train and enter Gladiator events under the banner of the Clan for Glory in the wasteland. Allow the guilds to fashion custom armor so spectators can see visually if a Gladiator represents a particular school.
This could also be one solution for end game. When your Char has done every mission he can and reached max level what is there to do? Well, he could explore the life of a Gladiator. Events always occur so there is no end. It is very player driven and could contribute to the lore of the wasteland in an organic way and the players could feel they have real impact in shaping a part of the wasteland. MMO's... MMO's never change...
