Frankenstein:Through the eyes of the monster

Post » Tue May 05, 2009 11:46 pm

Hello. I hope that someone can help me out with this. I started playing Frankenstein: through the eyes of the monster several years ago, and I never go to the end. After all of these years, I was trying to find the game again, but without much luck. I probably did a silly thing, and bought a used version via internet because I couldn't find it at the gamesas website. I tried to install it on my computer, but I can't get it to open, play, dance at a wedding or anything. I am hoping that someone might have an idea that might would help me be able to play this game that I never got to finish. I have windows 7, and tried to run the game as the administrator, and used other versions of windows that are available on my computer to run older programs. I even went so far as to try to hook up a sony playstation to see if it would work there, with no luck. Thanks to anyone who might be able to help me out on this.

Tracy,
Sorry to tell you this, but Frankenstein is not compatible with Windows 7 (or Windows Vista, or XP). It requires Win95/98 to work, and you must have installed a very outdated version of Quicktime (version 3).

It cannot be made to run on modern computers.

The developer that made that game is out of business, and there are no updates available.

Again, sorry!

Chris,

I was responding to your information about Frankenstein, and something happened. I don't know if it got lost or not.

Thanks for your speedy reply about my little problem.

I took my game to work, and played it on windows XP with no problems today during lunch. We are supposedly going to windows 7 at some point, so I better get a move on it. Is there a gaming console that would allow me to play the game, or just get one of my older computers up and running and give it a go?

Also, are there any other games out there that are similiar to Frankenstein that are somewhat slow paced, that I might want to check out that I can play on windows 7?

Thanks for you help again.

I'm honestly shocked that it worked on Windows XP. I've received several reports that it doesn't work on XP.

It will not run on a gaming console. Your best bet is an older computer.

I'm not that current on adventure games these days, but I know of this one:

actually chris youre wrong. you can play this game on xp microsoft said if you have windows 7 prof. and above it cant be windows 7 home premium because it does not support windows xp however if you upgrade to a higher windows 7 (like windows 7 prof.) you can install xp so the game will work... and if you have xp then kudos to you life will be easier. i have also discovered you can play it on vista as well you just have to right click on the game icon and select run as admin. im pretty sure the vista i am currently running is the basic version. you may get a few error messages when installing but as long as you see the game icon just right mouse click that icon and select run as admin... i noticed the error messages i was getting was about quick time player but hey its an apple product running a windows computer its just confused. and chris look for a job that doesnt require you to know these things or do research to back up what useless info you give people and you cant just go on what other poeple tell you it all goes back to that saying he says she says.... the only thing right about what you said was you cant play it on game consoles. so with that being said tracy use a computer with windows vista.

Thanks for the info. I've given people those exact steps and they have been unable to get the game working, however, so I suspect there is more to it than that.

We don't have copies of the game (or the Mummy title), so it's a little hard to diagnose from a distance, but this info is very helpful.

Appreciate it.
