That's not due to art work per-say. WoW is written on an engine that's a lot more forgiving when lowering or disabling certain features (aka doesn't drop game play value). Video rendering is a major part of the engine that was worked out well with WoW.
I wish more companies would work with engines or in creation of new ones under such as having a backward compatibility function. This allows a much greater audience to play the games and ultimately purchase them. Not everyone wants to throw out 80 dollars for a video card (and still be hitting barely passed medium settings) just to play a game. Instead they just want to slam down 49 dollars or so and play the game on their computer that isn't even 4 to 5 years old yet.
Though unfortunately hardware makers do not bode well with such ideas as they want to push out their latest of hardware for the latest high price. Its kinda like oil companies with vehicles. They could've been made better long before but what good would that be for the the oil companies? So its a give and take situation. We are just stuck in the middle. Luckily we do have companies like Blizzard to step out of that direction to the extent and try something a little more old school.
I told the Overseer of Vault 13 I'd give everything to save everyone, and so I did, I saved them all. Since then I've felt loneliness.
